This is to serve as a reminder to myself. Forever entombed in a forum that will forever be locked in the near future. A reminder of my mistake.
You betrayed me. I made a mistake getting close to you. I made the grave error of thinking that my loyalty to you would be repaid when I needed it. I was so very wrong. Its an illness I cannot describe, a seething rage slowly swelling in my heart even now as I remove your knife, covered in bloody memories. A realisation that you were never truly anything but a shark, and I the bait to your hook. You bit me, and you bit me well when I served no other purpose. You didn't want what you claimed, you were never true.
And yet, here I am, shattered. A memory that will forever serve to guard from the very same mistake ever happening again. Yet its amusing to you, watching this unfold. You say its painful, but it isnt for you. Its so very easy for you to justify it all. You call me unsympathetic, how dare you. I was warned against you, I was warned that you would do what you've done to many others. Even now, you drive me down a path that I saw several years ago. I planned accordingly, perhaps too well. I saw this coming weeks - no, months ago.
They were right to warn me. |

Nothing left to say or do, nothing left to feel or care for. A waste of well over eight months. The sickening feeling of rage, nurturable with force of will is all that is left. And yet, now with hindsight... I can't seem to keep it going to make you worth being anything other than a lesson, a reminder to protect against it again.
You had someone, Nikita, that was willing to stick by you even when nobody else would - including your closest of friends. I am bewildered, really. Dont bother replying, nothing you can say or do would ever change what it is now.
A memory I wont forget, because I cant.. |

I betrayed you huh Myxx? I stuck my knife in and twisted? I was only in it for myself? Yeah, since its totally a betrayal when I tell you honestly why you're having problems. Yeah, that's why I put up with your crap for months on end, and when you leave me, claiming I screwed up, I decide to stop holding you to a lower standard then everyone else. I never turned my back on you. I told you exactly what you'd have to do to fix things with me, but you couldn't do it could you? You couldn't admit you were wrong.
I think I was the one who was wrong about you.
So enjoy being alone. Its all you have coming for you. Maybe it'll finally make you realize your mistakes.
I never stopped caring about you, but I'm done investing emotionally in you, when all it will bring me is grief. You dug your own grave, now you can lie in it.

Maybe you're new, maybe you just don't care to read. The point was stated in the first post: A permanent reminder, soon to be entomed in what will become an archive. For myself, even. Something that can never, ever be erased.
Secondly, I used to be Nikita's CEO. You could say this marks something, if you like. A final split. A shattering of something that was but is no longer attainable.

I took a chance, much to the contrary of my knowledge. And yet here it is, confirmation of what I knew to be factually correct. Understanding that there is no emotion other than rage, depression and pain. A weakness that exists in the darkness that is my so-called soul, and so without a reminder every now and then of that pain and regret, that sickening feeling would be otherwise forgotten.
What most fail to understand is that there are those of us that see things so far off in the distance that it leaves the rest of you wondering. Much too dangerous, the perfect stranger.
This reminder serves to make things so much clearer once more, a reminder that my goal is worthy of the pain inflicted in getting there. The shattered bridges, burning fires and utter chaos in doing so are merely hurdles to overcome.
And Nikita, whats sad, truly sad is this:
You failed the test that you so wanted to pass when we met. You, in the end, completely shot yourself in the foot. I wanted better for you - for us - and now, you will never know what you almost had. |
