With the ability to walk around stations coming up soon I thought where could this be taken to next?
Then I thought holy crap let us go down on planets and make it a 3rd person mmorpg shooter.
Now how would this work? Well we have custom offices already on planets which could be turned into a dockable structure where you dock and then you get launched in your pod to the planet. Once you land you arrive at the planet HQ where you have npc merchants who are selling guns, armor, etc. Also In HQ are agents who give missions for you to do on said planet, like there is an Angel base that has been discovered on the planet and you have to go and kill them. There are practically no limits on what they could have you do. And of course you could have buddies come with you.
Another thought would be a free roam on the planet where you and your friends can go out and kill npcs and monsters. But if say your doing this in a low/null sec system you can run in to another gang which could turn in to an epic pvp situation.
I Think this would add a huge new aspect to the EVE universe which everyone could enjoy.
So please let me know what you think about this regardless if you think im crazy or you love the idea and want to give me your input.
Thanks! |

Dear CCP,
instead of a 3rd party shooter I would prefer to have control as a corp owner over the strategy in DUST514 like a commander in BF2/2142, optionally if contracts was made with that option :-)

You do know what you mentioned sounds really quite similar to dust 514, I just dont think ccp will introduce something to the eve online client when they are implementing a whole new fps style game. tbh and imho I really don't think eve should be implemented with fps style mechanics since I just don't think it would fit with what already exists. I would prefer to agree with this post.

let incarna be the bridge between the two games so communication between players of both games is possible. No pvp in incarna until the player base of eve demands it in a majority.

I think that if there was combat in incarna it should be in line with the feel of the general game with lots of modification elements and strategy. Possibly turn based or timer based. This allows the more cerebral type of planning that EVE players are used to. I think putting fps elements into EVE would be too much FPShooting and would take away from the DUST 514 community.
On a different note, I think that DUST 514 should be made to work from a computer as I am sure there are many EVE fans who would like to play from their pc's. A possible improvement would even be to make both games accessible from the same startup menu. Ideally, both games could be downloaded together.

I am still waiting for Incarna to reach the first level (actual deployment). After that I'll worry about the next one. --Vel

Anything further than walking around a station, talking to agents and /waveing at each other and you are talking about a whole new game.
While this may be an industry first, I think we should stick to Eve as spaceships.

What you are describing there is a whole MMO on its own. ------------------------ Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum "I've got a couple of Strippers on my ship... and they just love to dance!" ------------------------ |

I donŠt like combat in station, and I never said that. I refered to DUST514 involvement for Corp-Contractors, like here:
