It Was A Rumor
Some of you may have noticed that I was buying the wh locations of every system in one constellation. We did this because it was rumored that the sigs from one system in a constilation would respawn to another system in the same constellation. If this were true and we did put alts in each system in the constellation then we could increase our isk by pushing the sigs to our wh much more quickly.
I set out to find out the truth.
Some one billion isk payout later... and two weeks of scanning and warping to all sigs in each worm hole has shown us that this rumor was just a rumor and is not true.
You will see from my three alts file that I made that there was no correlation between what I scanned in one system and what I found in the other systems. Two of my corp mates had alts in the other two systems. I couldn't get them to make screenshots but they said they saw hardly any sigs come into their systems during this time. One of these alts found he had 22 sigs to warp to and none of us saw hardly any increase in sigs in our systems after he warped to all of his.
So after spending over a billion isk I have am not sure how CCP moves sigs from one system to another... but they do not go directly from one system to another system in the constellation.
Any thoughts now as to where they are going?

Edited by: Spectre Wraith on 13/03/2011 00:01:24 A random WH system. Simplest solution. That's why unoccupied WH systems seem to have alot (as the sigs have piled up over time) and occupied ones seem to be empty 'all the time' as sigs are completed soon after spawning. CCP like to recycle mechanics. I'd say they're broken up into groups based on their class rather then region for spawning purposes.
Occam's Razor and such.

Simplest and most likely.
Sigs do not respawn. They despawn when a despawn triggers is met. (4 days after first visit or everything's dead).
There is a periodic process run across wh nodes that applies a chance of spawning a new sig in each system.

It very well could be.
More info would be great though.

After living 6 months in the same C1 wormhole we have found that sites respawn 'in kind' across a fairly 'scheduled' timeline.
For example, we have a site called 'The Line' which appears 1/wk. Assuming we do it on the same day each week, we see it again, on the same day each week. Like clockwork.
We also see the same collection of grav sites on similarly regular intervals. This has led us to operate under the assumption that sites are on some form of scheduled 'respawn' timer. Different sites have different respawn rates. Some return once every 2 weeks, 1/month, 1/wk, etc. Anomolies though appear to be a mixed random roll of the die each day. We have not found any rhyme or reason to anomoly spawnage.
Just 2 ISK from our alliance's personal experience.

If my memory is not faulty about it, and if I understood it right back then, when exploration was still only on SiSi, the way I understood it from how people from CCP explained it, there are different types of signatures, some which never leave the system (like, say, the static end of a w-hole), some that never leave the constellation (like lower-level PvE content), some which never leave the region (like mid to high level PvE content), some which never leave a set of regions (probably highest level PvP content), and some that could be anywhere in the galaxy in a system certain security class (some wormhole sides most likely). _

Hey nice going Fitz.
Did you remove your alts already?
Scanning down every site is "hard" work, so I was hoping to sometime get to try the same just combat sites. This would allow me or others to check all systems relatively quick, since you get them all bookmarked with a single probe scan with astro 1.
The pic you linked doesn't really prove much to me, as it's just three systems, and not all scanned on the same days. I'm sure you had additional data though. I don't mean to offend, but your corpies don't sound like very reliable sources of information, if they can't even take screenshots.
Me I would keep an excel sheet, noting each individual spawned and de-spawned combat site every day, not just same type, and do that for a couple of weeks. I would need at least 7 alts, which I don't have, to spare anyway, and I'd need to get them into the systems in question, either by your method or patiently waiting and inserting from own static. Which could take forever.
Which makes it too much work to even start on :(.
Good to see you attempting it.

Nope my alts are still there and I think theirs are too.
It is a bit of trouble but I will do it again twice and get the others to give me screenshots of their scans too.
