I have been looking at some Fed armor hardeners in my LP store and when I compare them to the attributes of the T2 hardeners the only difference is the Meta level. Does this in any way make them better if all the attributes are the same? I have noticed this in other modules also. |

I think the cap usage or fittings are different, but really you shouldn't use faction armor hardeners.

In certain cases they're desired, when fitting ships with low CPU available (Guardians for example), because faction hardeners take much less CPU than T2.
Also, low skill players that have the ISK can use those instead of T2 if they have to.

Same stats, less fitting. You need them for certain tight fits. The Ishtar comes to mind. If you want better stats you'll need to go deadspace. |

The faction stuff is not all equal, sometimes only difference is fitting requirements, sometimes you also get better base stats than T2, sometimes worse. Gallente - the choice of the interstellar gentleman |

As mentioned there are many reasons.
But if stats are the same expect better fitting... |

They take 16 cpu to fit, rather than the 36 that T2's take. On most ships, that makes a HUGE difference in what else you can fit on, especially in fits with more than one hardener. Triple rep Myrms are like what you'd get if you strapped a beehive to Robocop. |

Compared to T2 they are better for overheating also. I don't remember whether it's because they have more module hp (if that even exists anymore) or lower heat emission stat. |

You don't need Hull Upgrade lvl5 for the faction hardeners.

Dead space are often cheaper and definitely better when it comes to hardeners. |

It's the "heat dissipation rate modifier". It's an hidden attribute. Pyfa does reveal it. |
