I'm wondering which corporations or alliances require their capital pilots to get Jump Fuel Conservation V. I can imagine this being needed for alliances that constantly move around. Are you in a corp or alliance that requires this or do you know any that do?

Some will expect you to have Jump Drive Calibration V, but I've never heard of any requiring Jump Fuel Conservation V. Are you sure you haven't gotten the two confused?
JDC 5 is extremely nice to have, and I do recommend you train it. JFC 5 is really the last thing you should train in capital Navigation. I'm not saying dont ever get it, but it's less important than the other skills.
The amount of ISK you will save is pretty trivial, but it can be useful in increasing your effective range; as the fixed amount of fuel you can carry in your carrier will take you further. Or you can pack less fuel and have more space for other cargo.

Thanks, and no I wasn't confusing them and I do consider JDC a prereq for serious 0.0 capital warfare, but was wondering about JFC. I'm not sure if I remember correctly but I believe it was a requirement in Reikoku, could be wrong as it's been a while and I didn't fly caps back then.

Na, I left my JFC at II. But you aleast need to have your JDC to be at lvl 4, or you might not have enough range to jump into the area you wanted.

No they won't. Most alliances only expect their supercapital pilots to have JDC V. I've never heard of any that outright deny pilots entry, especially carrier pilots if they don't have JDC V.
OP: No. No alliance expects you to have Jump Fuel Conservation 5 or Jump Drive Calibration 5. Getting both to 4 will suffice.
The only time you need JDC 5 is when you get into a mothership or titan.
As a former RKK member, no they did not expect you to have JDC V or JFC V. They did however expect you to have both skills at four since ops are planned around that, so you do need Jump Drive Calibration 4.
Thats it.

I would point out that for many capital ops the pilot will pay for the fuel and burning 40k iso isn't that uncommon on a daily op if you are active. I trained it so that it would cost less for normal carrier/dreads but also because of moms and jf.
To the op, if you find yourself in an active capital group you will wish you had jfc 5 trained. But first you need to find a place where you are in use daily.

Every skill is needed to be at Level V, eventually. The question is, which one first?
The correct answer is your own.

We are not all OSD like you and train everything to 5; btw congrats on the skill points.
For those not looking to be in a race to the top, training 4 is good for most uses; 5 is just for kicks.

Alright thanks, I thought JDC V was required at least but guess I don't remember. Looks like I can drop at least JFC V then, bit too long.

lol, really? Not my experience. I don't mind paying the refueling after ferrying stuff or the occasional gank myself, but sustained capital operations suggests moon-goo, and then the alliance or corp should provide fuel.

For supers or daily JF use, yes.
Otherwise no, you could train much better things. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

dont underestimate the value of Fuel to 5, it realy saves some money in the long run. Even moreso with isotope prices raising.
