I have a problem with the internet connection ceasing to function for ~30 seconds, crashing the client every time. This problem started a few days ago.
The problem seems to be on the other side of the router, meaning the modem or ADSL line is the culprit. The problem goes away by itself, I do not need to reset the hardware. What can be the cause of this problem?

have you tried mtr'ing it?
If you can confirm its the internet its upto your isp to deal with. Sounds like modem swap time

If the problem occurs, traceroute doesn't arrive at the IP straight after the gateway.
The gateway is a wireless router, the next device is a modem on an adsl line. Could ge-0-1.10k2.bbned-tc1.network.scarlet.nl be the name of the modem or is it something further away?

Edited by: Hana Bazura on 19/03/2011 02:33:26 I'm also getting frequent disconnects, about every half minute, minute or so. Seems to be a recent problem here, too.

Happening to me too, only in the last few days as well.
It doesn't appear to be my internet connection either, as I've noticed no lag in CS:S and another online shooter. Browsing is also nice and smooth.
