Edited by: Sentient Blade on 21/03/2011 09:53:59 Hi,
Can anyone tell me how I can kill the splash / login screen background music without affecting other parts of the game?
I'm having the small problem of it blowing my speakers out when I log in, which is more problematic when having to do it repeatedly for things such as swapping accounts for planetary interaction.
I've missed quite a few important messages over voice comms because of it blaring out, so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Yes you should, now we have the almighty noctis!
All the same, /bump any ideas on murdering the login page music before it murders my hearing?

Not really, no.
Are you using ingame voice or Teamspeak? If it's Teamspeak you'd prolly be best off adjusting your levels through Windows mixer. Just lower Eve's level and then bump up the ingame sound through Eve's audio options if it's too low.

The sounds are packed into the .stuff files. You would have to recompile one of the .stuff files, which is altering the game's code, which is a violation of the EULA.
You can however extract all the sounds with the .stuff extractor up on EVE files and have fun making music with them with programs like fruity loops Most of the old sound effects are still in there too.
In response to the OP, just turn the music volume all the way down. I haven't actually heard any background music from EVE in years. :P - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

Yes, because I was careless and seem to have misplaced the device I use for reading other peoples minds from several thousand miles away when they're trying to tell me important information on VoIP.

Hyperbole aside, it might be a good idea you take some initiative on your own and stop blaming CCP or anyone else when you can solve that little problem by just being a little bit proactive.

I liked the tyranis or what it was called patch, that looked pretty cool with the planet and stuff, now we get a zombie eye guass filter, makes me a little sick, and slightly destroys the fun of Eve actually
CCP sort that ugly page out

Sometimes I start the game with the sound off.
Then when I turn on the sound during the game my sound doesnt turn on. I have to log out of the game and back in.
The splash screen makes me realize my sound is 'off' and i have to click escape - click sound on, then log off and relog backon b4 i log.
So I like to have a little sound there b4 I actaully type in my credentials b4 I log on. If that bug was fixed I would not care about sound on splash screen.

Came to the conclusion the best option was just to take the music volume all the way down at the login screen and not worry about anything in-game.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Edited by: trevormax on 21/03/2011 21:45:38 if you click on the jukebox icon ingame and turn the volume down to nil, the splash screen music is also muted next time you log in. This doesn't affect other ingame sound however, like eve-voice etc.
If you want to listen to music ingame, you just turn the volume back up again and make sure to turn it down before you log off.
