If one day there was no concord, no high, low, null security. If Jita 4-4 could be destroyed. If there was no newb corp, nobody holding your hand.
If EVE was a real sandbox, could it survive?
or would everybody ragequit.

Subs would probably drop to below 100,000. Those remaining would ****ing love it, until CCP goes bankrupt and shuts down the servers. Then a Korean company buys the IP and releases it as a free to play game 6 months later, with all items purchased through a cash shop.
I saw this happen in an alternate dimension when I accidentally fell through a wormhole that opened in my fridge.

Yeah it would go belly up pretty soon. An effective society cannot exist without rules and regulations.
You'd not be able to train any skills, because some Muppet would bring in a titan fleet and knock out every NPC station and so forth. Skillbooks would cease to be sold etc.

What is so idiotic about it? As to the comment about dropping a titan to kill a skillbook station.. well maybe the other few thousand players in the vicinity might have a problem with that :)

Just the fact that you don't seem to understand the basic concepts of EVE that is making it good suggests you don't have a clue what you're talking about.
I suggest you stop your incessant poor trolling attempts or try and understand the subject matter better.

- Many would quit - We don't want them anyways - Few more would join - Much less players, which is fine - CCP downsize their operations, which is fine - The best MMORPG
Yes all EvE should be 0.0, and there should be no concord. Just leave stations as they are now.

Read up a little bit about the start of eve, eve was a chaos theory experiment more or less, there were no rules at the begining.... Could go good could go horribly bad, who knows.

One would wonder what a real sandbox actually is.
Look at life as we know it. Earth is a sandbox, we built what we have from basically nothing. Still people don't attack and kill each other for fun all the time.
Clones and clone facilities are the most important things that exist in EVE because they're the sole mechanic that make you immortal, hence taking away all the reasons people IRL don't kill each other all the time. So what if we destroy them, and you consequently suffer a permadeath upon podding? You'll have to start all over with 50k SP!
There's your true sandbox. You like it?

According to what I've read on the forum and my pitiful memory:
Concord used to be tankable, and IIRC weren't even around at one point. There was much less difference, if any, between different security levels of space. Jita wasn't the super trade hub. I can't say however if previous trade hubs were on same scale or if the area was always safe.
So basically, Eve was at one point a "real" sandbox. Eve is still here, therefore...

Players made Jita what it is, it is part of the sandbox.

Desiring/accepting a true sandbox would also mean accepting bots and no CCP intervention at all when things go wrong.

highsec bears would ragequit, new players wouldn't bother sticking around, and the remainder would slowly reduce in numbers through attrition until no one was left. _____________________ Look down. Back up. Where are you? You're on a forum, with the alt your alt could post like. |

Sandbox with no death in game? No!! The real sanbox: -no clones -no alts (i know thats impossible but if somehow...) -if you die in pod, your accound will be deleted. pernamently !!! as well as all your assets wallet etc, youll never be able to play the game aggain.
now the question would every hardcore PvPer like you ragequit, especialy if someone pod your 5year old account with millions of SP? Now thats what i call a sandbox. But as long as there is no death in game, your OP is irrelevant without any thinking.

Well they wouldn't have much choice about "ragequit"-ing if their account was deleted permanently, would they? Were you born this stupid or did you just work hard at it?

Don't worry, it won't. It's a console FPS being released at the end of the current gen lifecycle, and is linked to a subscription based MMO.
