Just finished reading this and I thought it was pretty good. Curious to see what others think of it, and if there's word about a possible sequel (so many questions in the end!)?

It was okay, but nothing spectacular (imo, ofcourse). Seems to be the trend with A. Reynolds, lately (Pushing Ice, House of Suns).
I don't know about any sequel, but the open ending was a bit off-putting and probably the main reason why I didn't like it that much.

It was good, but I much prefer his Revelation Space stuff. And particularly The Prefect, which is one of my favourite sci-fi books ever.

The Prefect was damned good. Also, Chasm City. Check out the short story compilations as well.

So far from him I've read the prefect, chasm city, the revelation space trilogy, pushing ice, and house of suns. In my opinion he's probably the best science fiction author out there now- his books are incredible. Just the scale, scope, and details of his novels and the technology and science behind them are far and beyond any other author I've read in modern times.

volyova isn't "hot". More "Ancient cold-hearted utterly ruthless barely human augmented space-being".
Khouri isnt much better.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

That's actually one of his not-so-great novels. It's ok but his others are much better.
I've read almost all of his other novels, just two or three more to go.
Also, looking forward to his new trilogy, Poseidon's Children, upcoming this year or next.
