Is it just me or are there a lot of people who for some reason thought it was real footage when it is plain obvious bullcrap?
My cousin I I generally looked up to and thought was a great guy thought it was real. They thought the woman actually got dragged off of the bed by a ghost.
How stupid are they? Scale

Did I believe it was true? No. Did I dismiss it completely right off the bat? No. However, all it took was a couple google searches right after watching it to relegate the movie to the "bull****" column.
Was still entertaining.

I saw the sequel too, turns out it's a prequel and then at the end it's after the events in the first one and it only makes sense at the last 5 minutes or so

Was still entertaining.
I went through -more or less- same story while watching The Fourth Kind... made me wonder. But then I looked up for the background story and... oh well, it was pretty good movie nevertheless.

You think that's bad, you shoulda seen it when Blair Witch Project came out.. lots and lots of people thought that was real.. even me until I saw that it was put out by film company called Haxan .. that was a pretty big clue that it was fake..

Yeah, a friend of mine who I consider the most intelligent person I know personally, fell for that one before he saw it. There was some kind of Discovery channel-type show that came out prior to the movie that discussed how the tapes were "found" etc. He told me how I had to see this...it's 'real'.
He figured out the truth before release, but it's a black mark on his record that I'll never let him forget.
PA1 and PA2 were not bad for a scare factor. The trick to making these movies enjoyable is to take along a girl who is easily scared by this sort of stuff. Makes watching them fun.
At least PA1and PA2 were fairly consistent in their format. BW2 was painful to watch...I could only make it through the first 30min.

If somone watches a movie like this and you catch them wondering "hmmm, is this really happening?" do them, yourself and the human race a favor.
SUFFOCATE THEM IMMEDIATELY
If they have any offspring, you may have to go all "order 66" to prevent that persons genes from further infecting the species.
Or you can ask them: Don't you think "ghost drags woman off bed on camera" would make the 6 o'clock news?

That movie was awesome. As a horror movie it's really the same as every other one, idiots go where they shouldn't, stay when they shouldn't, and eat when they shouldn't 
But I enjoyed it. They're making a sequel

Why does every movie shown from the point of view of a camera always end with something hitting the camera or screaming at hurling itself towards the camera? I think it is annoying and stupid.

It's the media I tells you, commercial driven media has cut our attention span to that of a goldfish.

WHAT??? Its not real? Well cover me in dog poo and lick the center , wtf! I went and bought all these leather collars and straps so I could secure my wife to the bed so she wouldnt get dragged off by some psycho ghost.
can't let her see this thread....

I have a few people around college that though it was real. I just kept my mouth shut.
Also there was an interview with the two actors of the first film and they brought up how many people thought it was real. They said that relating to the movie people googling their obituaries were those most common searches.
All this makes me sad... so sad.
