CCP please please please do something about the lag. It is all well and good bringing in new systems, ships and gucci equipment, however all this new kit is worthless if the problem of lag is not cured. It would seem at least in the UK that if you log on before 11 am GMT when there is less than 5k users then the lag is playable, but the lag becomes steadily worse as soon as the system reaches the magic figure of 5k users. I have played along and seen other complaints about lag for over a year now. Is there any chance of fixing this problem before anymore new patches

Edited by: JerMagni on 03/02/2005 22:39:28 Where are the servers located?
I get ZERO(or close to) lag here on East Coast USA.

I don't get lag either actually, back when i first started playing (march or somesuch), and the players were hitting 8k-9k the servers took a big hit, but ever since they updated them it has been fine. Check the connection your side. I'm in Manchester.

When I come home from work, (8k+ users online usually) I have no problems. On the weekends when there are 10k+ users I still ahve no problems. Even in Yulai all is fine. The only lag I ever see is in fleet battles. That sux major fallace, but what are you going to do.
I would suggest getting rid of your 14.4 modem.

1. Get a faster modem. 2. Stay out of huge-ass fleet battles.
That's not TOO hard to remember, surely? ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

The lag is kind of tough in larger battles but overall CCP has done a good job of weeding it out. You'll always have "blob-lag" though I dont think theres much they can do about it.

With a 2.5 meg broadband on cable and a top of the range system for games that is i dont think its the kit. The lag is there on normal use but as you have said and i agree it is a lot better than say when i first started thanks to the guys in the back room. The lag i have noticed is during deadspace missions especially the extraviganza style, so when your weapons and most importantly your AB's and Warp(running away) it gets a little hot under the collar.
