I was trying to probe down a probe by another player, I placed my probes well within the range, and I did have Scanner Probes checked in the filter.
The results returned nothing. Since that probing space contained nothing else than probes, there was no results on show all filter either.

There are several objects that cannot be probed. Here's a few:
* Probes * Mobile Warp Disruptors * Wrecks * Corpses * Containers
Combat probes only show ships, structures, anomolies, and cosmic signatures.

So, the Scanner Probe in filter is useless? damn.

For precise pinpointing yes... but you can see them in directional, so general indicator that you might be getting probed down yourself.

I think probes were set to be not probable because otherwise you could use them to make some rather wild safespots. (Have a friend or alt put a probe far far away, probe it out).
But now that the safe spot explots have all been plugged, maybe it would be OK.

You are unable to probe McProbes probed by probing probers. Prob(e)ably because the **** factor comes into play.
/me dies.

That thought did occur to me ;)
Is there anyway to make a deeper safespot now? In legal/non-exploitive way! I know of the "20 au" limit. Missions/exploration sites are bit closer to planets.

I've had a few kill missions that were out in the Styx. Nothing like the deep safes of old, but >14au from any celestial and well above or below the plane.

One way is drain your cap and then warp to an object, drain enough you will come up shart and get a good safe spot.

How would this be better than just warping to that object and bookmarking somewhere in between? Also, wouldn't that be a line spot and not a safespot?

Actually, making safe-spots between celestials is not a good idea.
Instead, bookmark safe-spots between safe-spots that are between celestials. You can repeat this a few times to get a safe-spot that is NOT aligned with anything.
Also, de-spawned random sites/wormholes make reasonably good safe-spots, and of course you can bookmark safe-spots between these.

Actually i was thinking: why do ppl bother with some complicated formulas... complete an anom which is the furthest from any celestial and safespot is ready.
I guess making "unscanable safespots" isnt possible anymore (if possible it must be a bannable exploit).

Anoms, sigs, etc. are always within 5AU of a celestial.

That's 4 au, and 8 au for wormholes.

His plan is better because it involves him sharting while he does it.

Maybe GTS(Goon Teleportation System) still works to make unscannable spots but it's rather complicated to do and doesn't work everywhere.
