Edit: The registration isk ruins it for a lot of people, reduce/remove the isk price and remove the registrationg fee entirely :)
just thought id drop in that the ship is awesome \o/

good idea but.... Questions:
You get eliminated if you dont kill a target per week, so what happens if your target is never online? Bad luck?
who decides targets? how?

The registration ISK is cheap. This is already a labor of love. I'll consider a freeroll at some point, but if I make a charity it will be for the orphans of the Minmatar Republic, not for pirates and killers.
Shaalira: There will be a recap page for each tournament on the website, but do I think a forum is called for as well. There will be some crazy moments worth writing down.
Aquana: We talked about target inactivity on the last page. If your target is truly inactive or not present, you can petition about it and get an exemption. If they kill their target, though, they are obviously not inactive.
Targets will be assigned in the following way: Everyone will be put on a spreadsheet in the order that they register and pay the fee. When registration is closed, I will draw numbers to fill in each persons target. There is no other choice to make. I said some things about a free target pool earlier if someone kills their assassin, but even that isn't necessary. If you kill your assassin, the person who was targeting your assassin inherits you as a target. If someone is kicked out for being inactive or cheating, the same thing happens. A diligent observer will be able to verify the whole system by killboard.

I think you'd get a lot more reception if you had a 3rd party handling the registration fees and prizes.

I agree, Nano. I'm looking into escrow services and trusted community figures to hold the isk. I need to use the registration fees to make the assassin/target chart as it comes in. I don't think someone who's a big enough player to back something like this will want to be bothered making lists of registration transfers, so my preference would be to transfer all of the prize money to the third party, have them vouch for it, and deal with the registration money in corp. This is the only business EOA is involved in, so things won't get confused.
I plan to make an announcement about the escrow holder this week.

This is great. I played assassins in College, too. I'm just getting into PVP now so this could be a great way to cut my teeth on the whole thing ... as long as I can raise the entry money
When does the fighting start?

Just posting to tell you that this is an awesome idea. I won't be able to participate because it would mean leaving my current corporation (that is something I'm not willing to do atm) and I am not able to play actively enough either for some time, but if you intend to organize new rounds I will definitely be trying it out in future!

The fighting starts on May 1st, but registration starts in 10 days. The rules on the EOA website have gone through a complete rewrite taking into account the questions asked here so check them out if you haven't looked at them in the last week.
Immortalist, there will be more rounds, don't worry about that. This is only the beginning.
