Hello guys.. Im just getting back from an 8 month break and really looking forward to getting back out there..
Altho when i started playing for the first time again yesterday i found out a lot had changed.. A LOT.. Even the look of nearly every ship..
Im just wondering why the looks were changed? To be honest i really dont like how most ships look now.. It feels like it took a step back with that one..
For example.. The Hurricane was perfectly fine as it was.. It looked pretty awesome, but now its been changed to a horrible looking Yellow-ish brown that is hard to look at it..
Also The Wolf is my favorite ship in the game.. Great ship for Faction Warfare which i did for a number of years.. But that went from an awesome Blue Camo design with great turret design that you could see.. To some black and cream brush splash with tiny guns...
Cheetah is just 100% Silver...
Mastodon is also 100% Silver just a different shade..
Thats just to mention a few.. A lot of others dont look good either and looked better before hand..
So i ask.. Why was the look of all these ships changed please? and changed for the worse it seems...
They looked so much better before.. Do i need to update my graphics or change the settings or something?
I believe this kind of thing falls under the rule.. If it aint broke.. Dont fix it..
Please change them back?

It's part of the V3 initiative. Basically all the skins HAD to be changed in order to make some "pipe dreams" further down the line possible.
Also... wait til you see the "new" Vagabond. 
Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

What you are referring to is the ship skins and apparently the previous designs were dead-end with no future. Behold the new V3 skins what bring visible structural damage and other eye-candy to New Eden in next year or so. |

Minmatar ships does not equal almost every ship in the game.

They were changed to allow better shaders and dynamic damage, as well as custom decals and paint schemes. I do agree some of them are a bit terrible though, and they could all use a resolution boost.

Details and textures are a lot better, but unfortunately the colour changes are somewhat questionable. At max settings Gallente ships are very, very dark in most systems.

If you look at that little bit below the cockpit bit on the Tempest from I think the left side it's not even connected, but on the right side it is. That's just sloppy CCP.
