I'm getting really bored in eve online. So time for a break until all the new toys are released. I am looking forward to dust and I'm not quitting, just taking a vacation.
So what games are out there that you would recommend. I like exploration, not really into any sort of medieval fantasy dragon crap.
My genre is sci fi / space, think mass effect 2 worthy.
Any suggestions?
I'm keeping my stuff so don't ask.

Black Prophecy. If there's one thing that I HATE about eve, it's the fact that it does not reward intelligence or skill, who the fk wants to depend on 50 peons in order to have fun? Not me.

Black Prophecy is now out of beta and released as a regular game. Earlier in the day there was really bad lag but this evening it was okay. And it is a free game. It is weird how it prefers a mouse over a regular joystick twitch space shooter. With the ordinary guns I found it very hard to target small ships. Replace them with seeker guns and they will auto aim to a small extent. Also there is now an icon that tells you where to aim given an enemy ships trajectory. Unless you have a current high end gfx card the graphics will crawl when you are outside of spire station. But with gfx options around medium high my 8800 GTS gets high fps in the ice belt instances where you do you first missions.
I thought it was going to be a game that had to be purchased. But as it is free it is certainly worth a look.

Yeah I looked at BP and jumpgate as alternatives. BP has nice design aesthetics but jumpgate looks visually terrible.
The eve universe is also looking very old and the new background nebulae are, well a joke. Quest for Earth is interesting but probably will never see the light of day due to a one man development effort. When eve gets a facelift, much like their carbon technology, I will look into it again but in the meantime I'm saving my money for something with real value.
Pi? Yeah nice one, dip****s, place farmville in eve why don't you. I would A. Fire the entire PI team, B use that money to hire ship modelers and texture artists to focus on ships and deliver MONTHLY new assets to the eve universe.
I have to pay a fee each month yet everything stays the same. No new content just bug fixes. Yeah why should I pay for bug fixes remind me again?

Same for me. I will quit for at least 6 month. It becomes static or, maybe I am the one that changed. At this moment, I think that it will be more than 6 month. Could be forever.
No, as I wrote in my similar post, you can not have my stuff. :) I will handover to my 7 years old daughter. eve is a beautiful game! |

Black prophecy sucks about as bad as star trek online.
But if you can stand tooling around in ww2 era tanks then world of tanks is pretty damn good.
Lots of easily accessable pew pew and you won't even need to pay any real life money if you are not worried about getting a tier 10 e-peen brawler tank.

Pi is not new content, Incursions? Just bigger rats. Not new content.
New content was released when noctis and that other hacker ship were released but both had nothing to do with PVP or combat.
Actually the man behind Infinty: The Quest for Earth has teamed up with Keith Newton last year. Keith used to be an engine developer at Epic Games. Together they formed I-novea Studios.
I-novea Studios will focus on marketting the I-Novae engine as it's primary goal and creating Infinty as it's 2nd. This in my opinion makes it more likely to get released at some point in the future then when it was still an indie product.
They are also recruiting additional programmers for now.

Interesting, well they just need angel investors who believe in their product. Unless they can actually get upstart cash to fuel development there won't be much of game or an engine anytime soon, and they are in danger of being obsolete in a few years due to advancement in technology and updated graphics engines.

Try Face of Mankind. It's pretty cool if you like to role play. I'm currently a rank 5 officer of the LED (Law Enforcement Department).
