Hi not sure where to post this but wanted the opinion of eve users. I'm looking for a new computer just because of this game (thanks eve)
I have normal PC but my brother works for Apple and made me fall in love with the iMac, if I did get the 27" iMac how would that fare with the game? I see lots of stuff about bugs etc and have built pc's before ? would a custome built PC be better?
anyone im stuck!

I highly, highly recommend going for a PC if you're primarily wanting it for Eve play. I have both a Mac and a PC and Eve just works better on a PC (of course, it was made for PC's and ported to Mac, plus CCP works tightly with Nvidia and IBM, which are PC centric).

Can you play EVE on a 16 gig thumbdrive? (assume the computer has good hardware otherwise..ie enough graphics and a big screen)

Yes you can, you may have slight loading slowness due to the speed of lash drives, but there will be no issue. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

I am going to move this to the Mac channel so that you can get some further advice on this.

If your getting it mainly to play Eve on, get a PC. IMHO you won't be too happy with the way the Mac handles Eve. Don't get me wrong, I love my Mac and wouldn't trade it for a PC, but it's not the best choice for Eve. I play Eve almost exclusively in Bootcamp on the Mac.

I use eve on a 27" iMac. While you can run it in OSX you are better off running in bootcamp. I've installed Windows 7 into bootcamp and also installed macfan to manually control the fan speeds. (I lost a macbook pro 17" to eve and excessive heat when I wasn't using fan control)
Eve on a 27" screen is a beautiful thing, and with macfac running fans on about 75% of max, runs relatively cool.

I've personally played this game on both PC and Mac and I find 0 difference in the two. Mind you both the PC and Mac have basically the same set up. SO if you play it on an iMac you'll be doing real well. If you choose to get a PC instead, you'll do just as well. The only downside to getting a Mac is, without windows 7, you miss out on a lot of other games you could play and free programs. The plus side of getting a mac is you have a heck of a lot less problems when it comes to viruses and what not.
Just some pros and cons of both sides. Hope this helps you out.
