something to do with the 6th disco for the evening?
it probably isn't the FCP, but is the only piece of hardware I can name so it'll have to do

In that case, you can take your 1996 Honda Civic power steering pump and shove it as well.

Edited by: NinjaSpud on 29/03/2011 23:23:20 Do you have any Idea how FCP works? Or are you like so many other people here who just post their 12th grade educated guesses on things that seem 'scarry' to them?
Flow Control on a network is essential. I know this, I'm a network tech, and I work on a very large network. I could go into the intricate details of duplexing, subnetting, and cascading; and how they relate to bottlenecks in IP traffic... but I doubt your brain could handel that.
Do we need to explain using words you can understand. Does anyone have a bright crayon I can borrow?

i think ccp did it on purpose. werent they just saying at fanfest that they could now have a node crash and not take everything else with it? they were probably testing that and tuxford went overboard

Edited by: Barakkus on 30/03/2011 15:49:27 Good read, I'm not a networking expert, and unfortunately neither are our network admins...but that is exactly what we've been wanting to implement with our AS number and BGP but, as far as I know, it's been like pulling teeth to get anyone to get that working between us and our providers. We purchased some Juniper routers, but not sure if they are the models that support FCP, hopefully they are. Our last mix was 2 microwave DS3 connections and one provider just could not keep the signal going to us, then all of a sudden took away our burstable bandwidth and capped us at 6mbit without telling us, so it's been a major pain...only way we could deal with it was to just unplug that particular dish and have our traffic routed over the good provider when things got bad...essentially paying for service we aren't using 70% of the time.
I actually forwarded that devblog to my boss so he can try and understand what is going on and what needs to be done to get what he wants...hopefully he understands it... - - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring

Apparently I am to blame for the denigration of the estimable Honda Civic (one of which I currently own). In my attempt to use humor to show why the OP was a dumbass for blaming the first piece of tech he could actually name, apparently I stretched the bounds of credibility a little too far.
Honda has my sincerest apologies for this perceived slight on their products.
Also, I would like to reiterate my point that the OP is a moron. Hopefully the point I was trying to make is clearer now. --Vel
