Hello everyone. Lately I've been enjoying flying a drake into wormholes and harvesting neural net parts and salvage to take back to my comfy high sec station.
However, while doing this, I have also managed to get medium blaster and rail spec up to par. I love the Brutix and would love a valid C1 and C2 Sleeper fit. Not too many ships drain in those sites and the ones that do are consistantly named, so I'm not terribly worried about cap, yet I do wonder if shield tanking it is a good choice or not.
I understand the drake can probably tank better, but we all know the Brutix is a bit more fun to fly and in comparison can pour out damage. I really want a probe launcher and salvager if possible, but obviously not if it'll compromize my ability to survive.
Thanks in advance! I'll be playing around with my own fits for you to judge, but I respect the opinions of this community and would love to hear what people have to say.

Blasters are broken, and the Brutix is just utter crap.
Just use the Drake and stop trying to fix something thats not broken

Hello there! I cannot give you precise information regarding C1 and C2 sites since our small corp mainly focuses on doing C3 sites however, the biggest advantage with the Drake and HML's is range. Since sleepers spawn at around 30-45km (or more) from where you warp in you will have a very hard (and long) time to get into range to unleash blaster DPS hence why the Drake would be better. If you can use the Drake, use it.

Sorry, the only advantage drakes have is their tank. Being able to project their DPS in sleeper sites (class 1 to class 3) is a non issue as in most cases sleepers close on you very quickly.
On topic:
The biggest problem with the brutix is not blaster DPS, its that it has a weak tank, even the Astarte's tank is a little on the weak side when it comes to sleepers. If you threw enough money at an Astarte you can get its tank acceptable than all you need is a microwarpdrive and you're set. However, no amount of money can make a Brutix worth taking into a sleeper site.

Don't use the Brutix. Myrmidon is far superior. The only way you will be able to do it effectively is with railguns and drones, and it's VERY annoying because you have to pull your drones back every time they start taking damage. It will be slow (some 20-30 mins per c2 combat site) and some you will not be able to do at all because you can't fit a good tank without ****ing up your cap even more than the hybrids already have.
In fact, you'd be better off fitting autocannons o_0
Seriously, Gallente suck for wormholes. Hybrids suck in general. Just get a Drake, Tengu, Legion, Harbinger etc. __________________________________________ Napoleon's Wormhole Sales & Third Party Services |
