I saw in the news letter that are fitting will now be saved on the server so all your fitting regardless of what PC your on can be viewed. Now that bring an idea to my head.
What if we could upload change and view are fits on Eve gate. I know I have issues getting things to import from EFT to eve, so I generally do my EFT at work and then just send it via eve mail to fit in game.
The benefit would be people who are at work can make the fittings then upload them to eve after they complete it. Or grab a ship already fit save it and change it around.
This could also be done with corporation fittings as well.
It might be hard to pull off but it could be as simple as taking the fitting tool from say battle-clinic and integrating it into eve-gate on a user and corporation based level then its just code so when you update the Eve-gate or in game it switches both.

This would be great, but I would suggest that a standardized text-based import/export/post format for fittings be introduced at the same time, and/or a API that fitting tools can connect to.

As Oveur first spoke about at fanfest 2009 and is something we gave a taste of during the keynote this year at fanfest where we showed some concept tech demos of having fittings work on tablets and phones, we very much want to evolve according to the eve everywhereÖ plan which means putting as much as is sensible on many different platforms, particularly mobile platforms which also means using portals like browsers to do this if needed.
Anything in eve that is considered a tool is a good candidate for this plan which includes fittings and is something we think about a lot as browsers will handle this reasonably well when you think about the many things in eve which can easily become platform agnostic.
