Originally by: Jena Lindser Changes to 0.0 Anoms will change how the game works no matter who you are.
For 0.0 people you lose the isk supply you need to live in 0.0 For people who only do highsec things you probably dont know that it takes months of game time and hundreds of billions of isk to attack a region of space.
You highsec people will find yourself in hot water as well. If 0.0 goes to pot, all those players from 0.0 who cant make a bronze isk in 0.0 anymore, with their years of pvp skill, are going to come knocking on your mission systems doors.
You dont care you say? Missions are unlimited and it doesnt change how you play? You misunderstand me. The 0.0 pvp players are not going to the mission systems to run missions, they are coming to gank the living goo out of all you billion plus "i am invincible" highsec carebears. That will be their new income.
So whoever you are, highsec or nullsec, you will feel the impact of any anom changes in 0.0 We will see how long the carebears can put up with being podded 5 seconds after they undock. I know carebears are rich, but after a few dozen 10+ bill tengu losses they will be crying a million times harder than the 0.0 players.
Highly doubtful.
Take a few moments and let the hysteria pass, then realize this amounts to a relatively minor nerf in ratting income.
Worst case scenario is that the truly lazy residents in affected area's go back to running level 4's in Empire on their alts, just like they used to do. Most frankly won't care, other than to (understandably) grumble a bit that it was "their" income that got adjusted down a bit.
Best case scenario is that things get a bit more chaotic for 0.0 system owners... always a good thing.
===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

Ranger 1: The problem is that the change makes quite an amount (for one region its all but 3 systems) utterly WORTHLESS to hold. Nothing below a Haven can sustain enough income for a normal player to refill their pockets from lost ships.
Alliances who only own worthless space will have no way to keep or get members to accomplish anything like "gaining better space" against the existing powerblocks that sit on this space anyway. The "promised" more diversity and chances for newer alliances are BS because it nerfs the younger/smaller entities and buffs the larger ones.

You can't measure something without changing it. How many of the 400 were there only to see how many they got?

Not that I see how my PvP stats make any difference, but hey, you do what you have to ;)
point is its pretty obvious, even with your "good stats" that you dont live in 0.0 nor have any idea what life is like in the affected regions that this hits hardest.
not to mention even with "its just whiners" you still can't come up with a logically consistent explanation of how the action leads to the consequence. thats actually not me being insulting to you, no one can do it. there is no actual causal relationship between the proposed changes and the desired outcome, which is why its ****ing people off so bad.
it is the argument of CCP that be nerfing "bad" 0.0 anomalies based on truesec those alliances will pick up and attack alliances who have better true sec for their ratting. it is just not going to happen. its not what drives sov wars. what will happen is a mass exodus, at least part time, of 0.0 plaers to high sec to run the new and improved level 4's in safety returning null to the wasteland it was pre-dominion and keep any newer allaicnes from even desiring to move into 0.0 to attack the current space holders because there is literally no benefit.
Actually the new changes to lvl 4 missions is actually a nerf not a bumb, the way the new system works is the more a particular agent gets used, the more lower the rewards are, instead of the low or high quality agents, you will get fk'd in the rear if too many people start doing the same mission agent as you. So yeah there will mass exidus of motsu and the like, just to lower the rewards of all the other agents. 0.0 isn't the only one thats getting hit with an isk sinker, all area's of the game is getting a heavy isk sink in time, this was confirmed at fanfest, you just have to adapt even though i actually agree that the 0.0 nerf is pretty low blow there for you guys out there, feels like eventually 0.0 wont be worth doing unless you want to only do pvp if they keep nerfing everything.
Might want to consider heading out to WH space instead.

Naw - people who have invested a lot of time in the game into gaining, improving and holding their 0.0 systems, will not be into packing up and moving AGAIN - when ccp can just come along and nerf THAT too. Most likely numbers will just start to fall as people log on less less and then there will be a few fail cascades.

Ye I love pirate tears lol tastier than carebear tears.
On a serious note a small part of the player base should not be able to drive game design (like the I want to pvp everywhere and get easy kills to make me look so awesome types). I have a feeling a portion of the "OMG they are nerfing my easy income" crowd maybe involved in RMT with bots minning and ratting is 0.0.(we all know it happens)
This might not be a big part of the whining but the other is made up of players who don't want change. I don't like change for changes sake but EVE has yet to be static and unchanged since it started and I personally hope it continues to change.
I might not like some of the changes but really if it got to the point I was crying like a kid because a toy is being taken away then change game. It is after all only a game.
I have lived in 0.0 and high sec and we all know 0.0 is all about padding an allaince or corp leaders wallet and feeding some rather large ego's, if you like 0.0 low sec for pvp nothing changes there if you are worried that your wallet will take a hit becuase of the changes I think your playing the game for the wrong reason or you need to change how you make isk.
Wars can still be waged corp's and Alliances will still make isk and people will still get to pvp its just that the isk balance won't be as high if I understand the changes properly.
