One for each race centered around a new weapon system that is torpedo based. One launcher per dreadnought.
Torpedo does stupid amounts of damage, moves around 400-500 m/s, can be targeted, when blown up is similar to current bombs but maybe slightly less damage. A frigate or light drone should be able to survive at least one explosion maybe two if they are dumb and are right on top of it when it goes off. This should be done with explosion velocity to maintain the very high damage output of the weapon. Therefore also if the weapon is blown up near its final target it would still do some damage.
Stupid amounts of damage makes them particularly useful against starbases/pos/etc and supercapitals. Slow speed makes them useless against smaller craft. Vulnerability of the torpedo gives an important role to the skirmish type players who will try locking and killing them before they hit and without getting close enough to take damage. The explosion of the torpedo requires a careful approach which is juxtaposed with the urgency of shooting them down.
That being said the torpedo should have a small signature and enough hit points such that they can survive a disco but are vulnerable to small scale weapons and light drones. Something on the order of a sig of 10-20, with maybe a few hundred hit points. So it would take one frigate or one larger ships' well skilled 5 light drones on the order of 10 seconds to kill it.
Would add a very definite very important role for smaller ships and another use for assigning drones from larger ships to them. Would provide a way to really hurt supercapitals and starbases, etc, if not checked.
No siege mode for the ship itself. Ship tanks similar to current carriers/dreads or maybe slightly better since this ship cannot siege/triage.
The 'torpedo' need not be a solid object. Indeed current missiles are boring enough as it is. Perhaps they should be just massive plasma bursts or something in the shape of a sphere. The industrial backbone to produce them if they are normal torpedoes is simple enough but if the plasma ball idea is selected then launching them should consume 'containment cores' that must be manufactured, etc. Just saying how it's done is pretty open ended let's not make it boring.
I realize this idea would not make lag better. So maybe work on it and bring it in after more lag improvements are made or if a way can be found to implement without causing significant marginal lag increase.

one thing i dislike here is that it is a missile, and still a missile on all 4 races.
So to solve the fact that a Gallente pilot will have no missile skills, perhaps make it use each of the 4 race's specialized weapons, but have it "lob" the bomb at them. Considering it is a big assed bomb, a rail gun may only be able to push it up to 500m/s. A big assed howitzer on a minmatar ship may also only be able to blast it to 500, etc. Thus making it a turret based skill set over a launcher based one.
