It has been little over 2 weeks since I have taken up with the crusade and PIE to fight for the Empire. I have been blessed to have great teachers help me adapt to my new military life and show me how to handle myself in a region of space I am unfamiliar with.
I am pleased to have had a 95% efficiency in my kills and have lost no crew in my battles, largely thanks to my fleet mates keeping me and my crew safe.
With this In mind I would like to say that I am very appreciative for the support from my fellow members of PIE, the Amarr militia, and my friends who help me better myself. It feels good to be out in the world and doing God's work. My new life is filled with triumph and pride and I don't think I have ever been so happy with myself.

I am glad to hear it works well for you.
But considering the current state of the militia, I am sorry to say that you may be still full of delusions. |

I delight to hear that you have managed to preserve the lives of your crew and am glad that you value their lives. However, I would like to hear you reflect on the lives of any enemy crews that you may have had a part in killing. Please do not consider this a cause to be defensive, but just an encouragement for you to remain holistic in your self-evaluation. Training skills for war involves not only protecting your crew but also killing enemy crews. The more you train for war, the more efficient you become in killing.
War creates efficient killers. I know what most soldier/warriors would say to this. "The better soldiers we become, the sooner the war is over and the more lives will be saved." True or not, that fact remains that military organizations train their members in the art and skill of killing.
I pray that your focus returns to the art and skill of wine making and away from the skills of killing. May you always feel a deep loss at the death of even your worst enemy.

Manwe, I bring you this from my Intaki tribal understanding, which I assume to have universal value --
There is nothing wrong with killing when two people (or sides) agree to engage in the act (that of competing to kill each other). In such a case, killing is an expression of freedom. What is not to be encouraged is the killing of innocent parties or the reluctance to define what that means. Life for life's sake and not for an honorable life is no life at all. True warriors (were they indeed that) would make for the greatest peace... even in war. And by this they would be loved.
Peace comes not in saying, "Don't kill", but in the illumination of shared values, of which "Don't kill" is merely one possible expression. What then is the root? Freedom, honor, loyalty, trust, understanding... those things which cannot be commanded because they are not a part of language.
I would ask you, to those to whom you would say, "Don't kill!" could you equally say "Honor this man!", "Trust this man!", "Understand this man!", "Give this man true freedom!". Such things are born of the indefinable. You can seek to illuminate the facts of the case, but to command it? Such things are best left to those who have command, the right to which, properly, should be born of such things. |

Qansh, I appreciate your thoughtful comments. The Disciples of Ston, Believe it or not, respect the values of honest and noble warriors. You have given good thought to these values and I respect that. My challenge to Ms. Goldcore is simply to continue giving thought to what values necessitate war and how to preserve nobility in a violent universe. She is a person of value, and it would be a great loss for violence to jade her values and idealism. This happens to a lot of capsuleers. I think she will understand this for we have spoken of it before.
The Disciples of Ston are functional pacifists, not ideological pacifists. Why? I cannot say this for sure, but I venture to guess that there are few if any capsuleers, other than the disciples, who never fire a weapon. There are many who promote war and violence in our cluster and even promote violence as a necessary means to peace. We do not disagree with all who take this position. But, we represent a needed minority in EVE.
For those who believe and hold the conviction, that their values must be defended with arms, the Disciples of Ston represent a small tug in the direction of restraint. If we can create a question in the back of your mind, "Is this really necessary?" then our functional pacifism has served its purpose here in EVE.
Thanks again for your thoughts Qansh. |

Anyone who considers themselves a believer in the Amarr faith shouldn't take any form of pleasure in killing and should avoid it when possible. However when the empire is under a great threat by enemies who will not reason, I am left with the unfortunate duty to fight.
Simply by the nature of space warfare there is no alternative to bloodshed. I do try, when possible, to rescue the crew of the ships I destroy though, if the Amarr hold the field and it doesn't put other fleet members at risk. |

I tried to reason with an Amarrian once.
The experience taught me it was better to just ignore them. |

Unless your the grand admiral of the Republic navy, I don't think you will mean anything towards a peace treaty. I know there are some perfectly reasonable capsuleers who would prefer peace talks, but they don't control the navy. We could talk all day long and it wont stop the war, its just the simple fact.
