+1 for idea, favourite is colourized with tags, but would like to see an invuln as well as a shield booster for comparison/contrast

Excellent idea :)
The colours could be a bit different, though.
Thermal is similar to explosive, and EM is similar to shield boosters.

Icons! I demand Icons...
Using different colors only discriminates colorblind players. However Icons on top of the modules can be recognized by everyone

It is something we want as well. There is quite a large list we maintain of module groups in need of new icons or additional details symbols like anything to do with resistance, remote vs local repairs, various types of cynos or cloaks etc and damage modules. Defintly something that would be good to do :)

Try the same thing you did with the colored with icons but just use 2 letter abbreviations.
If photoshop, use the recessed option (might still be called Cut Out) and\or try embossed with a multiply on the channel
