I wonder how much conflict of interest there is in all these suggestions...
Nerf some activity you have no interest in
Buff some activity you particularly enjoy/profit from.

Edited by: Ospie on 06/04/2011 13:58:32 Some interesting posts in the thread. Certainly a good few I'd be happy to see implemented.
Originally by: Dalek Commander Fine kill bounties, but...
Move level 4 and 5 agents to 0.0, and remove them entirely from high/lowsec. Highsec would have level 1 and 2 agents, and lowsec level 3 agents. Nullsec should always have a higher risk/reward ratio due to the very nature of 0.0 life. Eve is a pvp game at it's core, and hiding in empire making billions of isk risk free should be stopped.
I'm just gonna say that lowsec is more hostile than nullsec, most nullsec players sit in largely empty / quiet systems (believe me, I've spent a fair few days lately on an alt I've been ratting w/ in nullsec for sec purposes - I just set a distant system as destination and burn through - most nullsec is dead and not roamed, the carebears just dock/safe/cloak up when a neut comes into system - they normally get several jumps warning when a hostile fleet is around). The majority of the roamers / pirates are situated in lowsec. I've only seen less and less mission runners in lowsec in the two and a half years I've been -10. I do digress though :D

< doesn't make isk pve'ing , though I do admit a boost to isk making in lowsec would be nice; more targets :)

Reduce insurance payout rates for battlecruisers and battleships even more.
Rather than reduce the payouts, I'd prefer to get them in minerals. Seems hard to figure out where they go etc but hopefully someone can come up with something. Basically I'd like pvp in t1 hulls to maintain the current level of risk, because I feel that it's an adequate amount of risk as-is, and it lets younger players into the pvp game more.
I'd really like to see the mfg/research slots follow office pricing, too. :)

Too much ISK? Really?
Could the forum op plz send a copy of this thread to the genius that decided to give the expanded cargohold I BPO out to a select few in the early years and the one that came up with the t2 lottery? It shifted the economy completely. -- "Fear accompanies the possibility of death, calm sheperds its certainty." |

Duuuudes, who said anything about increasing market taxes ? Don't read too much between my lines. I was merely saying sinks would be increased in value if we would be using the current taxes on all items traded in particular those now traded via private contracts after forum auctions and such which MAY instead end up being placed at "buyout" value on the market instead if that was possible. Besides, those are all just ideas on how you COULD either increase ISK sinks or lower ISK faucets if you really want to do that. I am still not quite convinced that such a move is necessary yet, as there is no clear evidence as far as I am concerned about any PROBLEMATIC inflation levels. _

Edited by: Rysdan Phar on 06/04/2011 16:31:14 as a new isk sink allowing more than one outpost per system would soak up a chunk..... also allowing a new special tier 4 outpost upgrade (requires the outpost be already upgraded to a tier 3 outpost) to allow an external docking ring with a max of 16 supers allowed to dock per outpost. these would only be allowed in sov space.

Originally by: Eyup Mi'duck Mission bounties are not the problem, they haven't significantly changed in years. Leave well alone!
The range of isk faucets have steadily increased over time. Research, Hulks, PI, POS, it's all new stuff that has had a cumulative impact on the game. And the botting of course.
I dont consider any of the things you mentioned an ISK faucet. Hulks, PI, Moon Mining, Wormholes etc. etc. Sure, they make money, but none of them introduce ISK into the economy. Its that printing money thing again. Selling items to another player is a zero sum game, one person makes a million ISK, someone else losses a million ISK. When selling minerals mined with a Hulk to another player the ISK isn't simply "poofed" into existence, ala bounties.

As usual, leave it to Akita to make an objective summary of rational and plausible changes.
Though I will disagree, or at least have problems with a few points.
First off, insurance is fine as is. Insurance is necessary to continue to allow PvP, and decreasing it any more at this point would increase actual loss of a battlecruiser substantially. While the blobbing Drake hordes have SRPs and ratting space, the average small gang or solo PvPer has to run missions, etc, usually on an alt. This would cut into their ability to actually PvP.
While I would love all items to be on market, faction stuff would be really hard to add without making the market massive and unwieldy. Having a "faction" and "deadspace" tag to every market group in the game would be terrible, so they main issue I see with this is doing it but keeping the interface usable.
Finally, I have to really disagree with the idea of just adding SP dump skills. While I'm all for skills as ISK sinks, the Noctis books sold great. But your idea would force people to spend massive amounts of SP (assumably they would be high multiplier skills) into these booster skills would cut away from actually training fun skills, as well as widen the gap between new and old players. I know people don't really like to admit that the SP gap exists, but it does to a certain point. This would make it that much bigger.
Otherwise, great ideas.

If you exchange the word "faucet" with REWARDS more players would have a real problem with this post. We don't need fewer rewards in this game, we need better and more varied ones.
AND bots are being addressed by CCP (since sept 2010), don't try and hang your lame idea on top of that like maple syrup on pancakes.

How dare you Stevie. This was a good "general discussion" about the isk faucet. Now it will be lost forever in the dead zone that is Features and Ideas.

Call ISK faucets "rewards" and write off botting as being "under control".
Got it.
