ok may as well ask in here.. being a pos noob and all.
setting up a pos on my maina nd i am a lil concerned about corp mates aiding it.
can they lock me out with a password without the proper roles?
or do they need the right corp roles to do so?
can anyone put this into english for me?

Yes you can be locked out of your POS if someone changes the POS password. I would suggest you buy POS insurance from me. For 500 million isk your POS will be protected from:
Breaking and Entering Floods Tornados Hurricanes
If you forget your password and or if you need to change it, no problem!

Yes.
The only way to be sure it's safe is to post the location on here, so we can watch it for you.
Make doubly sure to do this if you're leaving for a long weekend.
Pro-tips:
- Put the shield hardeners OUTSIDE of the shield. Otherwise they cannot work. - Strontium is reactive and decays. DO NOT put it in the tower before it is needed. Fill your indy with it if attacked and warp to the pos at 20km to see if it's safe. - No one needs the POS gunner role and they don't need to logon. It's the thought that counts. - Make sure to name all the labs after the details of what they contain. Or you may forget. - Labs and advanced labs can't be unanchored within 24 hours.
(In my time in eve, I have seen ALL OF THE ABOVE actually done)
None-troll-reply:
Only if you give them the role allowing password change - Config Starbase Equipment/Config manager. And ofc any director has that role by default.

wh corps are funny, i managed to solo a large towers defences in a single domi - they only had two guns and a web..... also swiped an unanchoring one too :D

Your corpmates can only do what you allow them to do. If they don't have admin rights to the POS, they can't do anything.

Nearly. You can only lock out people who do not have a role assigned that allows them to reset and change the password on a whim.
EDIT: It's worth mentioning ALLIANCE members cannot hold this role (unless via super sneaky alt) so they can be excluded.

Never post in C & P if you want serious advice.
That being stated, Science & Industry is the proper forum for POS discussions.

If you have Config Starbase Equipment role, you cannot be "locked out" of a POS. However if that role is removed you can be.

Pro-tips continued: Start setting up the tower by jettisoning the tower and a stack of faction mods into space. Only then start anchoring and onlining the tower. POS guns don't need ammo, they create bullets automagically out of thin air. When your tower gets reinforced and becomes vulnerable again, come and defeat the enemy fleet. Then go home and let the shield recharge on its own. Arm your POS with large guns only. Bigger is better. When you're not using your POS, just empty the fuel bay. No point in wasting fuel.
(again, seen all of the above) ---

Protips continued:
Cruise missiles are the best POS defense. In fact, they're so good that you only need 4 or 5 of them to repulse any attacking fleet. You don't need warp disruptors/scramblers on a POS. I mean, if your attacker wants to leave, that's good for you, right? Ship Maintanence Arrays are a waste of resources; just leave all your ships floating inside the shield, nothing can touch them. All your ECM should be of one type because they get a synergy bonus from working together.
