I've ran some Amarr tutorials the last week trying to boost my -4.36 standings with them and I've noticed a HuGe drop in Minmatar standings. I had a faction standing with them around 4.5ish and now it is 3.9  . I have only completed the tutorials this last week and b/4 that I was running missions with "Bjongausen Agnake" Republic Security Services for Minmatar.
Please tell me this isn't so... and if not, should I just hit the "fail 12" button in game to get this fixed?

Yupp, the usual derived standing hits same as with doing storylines. See the faction repair plan for advice. Its great!! I cant recomend it enough.

Yes, completing missions for the Event_Agents will affect the other Faction standings. This is known as Derived Standings. The Event Agent missions can only be completed once in the life of the character.
The only exception to this rule is the Epic Arcs. Those can be completed every 3 months and they give no derived standings.
As was stated above, the Faction Standing Repair Plan explains how to work the Event Agents.

There is one other option, but recommend that you have Social V so that you get max benefit.
You can run the SoE Level 1 Epic Arc and near the end select the faction with whom you're trying to repair standings. With Social V you'll get about an 8% improvement in standings without corresponding hits to factions unfriendly to the one you're repairing.
Ran it last week with a brand-new alt, got the gain and no faction went down.
