I was out mining today with several Rets. I noticed when switching to a new roid if i cancel the cycle by either unlocking the target or manually clicking the miner itself that the Strip Miner will deactivate but the cycle will continue. Effectively you get no more M3 and you lose however long is left on that cycle. It resembles a weapon cooldown. Has anyone else experienced this? I do not remember reading about it in patch notes tho it is definatly a new development.

I hear it's a bug, possibly... could be a feature. You never can tell .

CCP is "aware that this is an issue".

Let me translate this for you so it is fully understood.

huh? This is not the attitude I want to hear from the game company that "listens" to the player. Saying you have no plans on fixing it is like saying "I'm sorry but it's going to be like that from now on, even though we know it sucks" Get some plans to fix this!

Reading comprehension fail. Don't get your panties in a twist. CCP has acknowledged it is an issue, they just haven't had time to research the issue and give an estimate for when it will be resolved.

Try reading CCP's post itself, not the one "translated" by a player with the "no plans" line pulled out of thin air.

when this happened last night, my first fear was that it was an intentional change. then I saw the post and felt better.
I think it's kinda funny and it speaks to the complexity of EVE that I don't think they touched anything involving turrets or mining in the patch and somehow this happens.
in the meantime, I think I'll just shut off lasers near the end of a cycle to check remaining asteroid volume

Hope you got it fixed, but if you didn't, then I was suggested to clear the cache, by GM Edo, and after doing it strip miners worked as they did before.
Clearing cache instructions from GM Edo: 1. Close all your EVE clients 2. Use the shortcut "Windows Key R" to open the Run window 3. In the "Open" field paste the following if...
... you are using Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\ ... you are using Windows Vista / 7: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\
4. Rename the folder "EVE" to "EVEBackup" 5. Launch the game again, and see if the issue persists. 6. If it persists, just delete the new "EVE" folder created and rename "EVEBackup" to "EVE" in order to recover your settings.
And these steps if you are under Mac OS X:
1. Close all your EVE clients 2. Go to Users/username/Library/Preferences/Eve Online/Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/ 4. Rename the folder "EVE" to "EVEBackup" 5. Launch the game again, and see if the issue persists. 6. It it persists, just delete the new "EVE" folder created and rename "EVEBackup" to "EVE" in order to recover your settings.
Thanks again to him/her.
