I hate to say it but I am a newb. I have 1200000 skill points and haven't got the battle ship cert yet. I was just wandering what the best route I would take. Battleship ? or battle cruiser? Galleten.

Dont get a BS yet, you have nowhere near enough skillpoints to be effective in it
if you really do want a BS get a raven, those are pretty noob friendly

Stick to frigs and cruisers, you are no where near to get in a bs. I wouldn't even think of it till 4-5mill SP and even then that's low around 8mil you start gettin decent if you train towards one race. Both frigs and cruiser can be very powerfull if flown right.

Thanks for the input. I wondering about thre mining barge I have a muel miner how do the stripper miners work with 3000 cpu req when the barges have a max of 200 cpu

mining barges have a special bonus for mounting strip/ice miners. they only use 30 cpu when you mount them. also you should look into interceptors/assult frigs if you dont want to move to BS. they are lots of fun and are not as intensive on skills as some of the other classes of ships.

Before buying a BS, if you dont want to lose it in a week, you should have the following skills:
Drone Interfacing 3
Heavy drones 3
Related large weapon 3
generic gunnery skills (rapid firing, sharpshooter...) 3
weapon upgrade 4
Electronics, engineering 5
shield managment, hull upgrades, mechanics 3
repair systems 3 (if you want to use an armor tanked ship)
Navigation 4
ralated BS skill 3
cap related skills 4
targetting, long range targetting, signature analysis 3
Those are what I consider to be the absolute minimum to have before using a BS, and then you should use it only for NPC hunting or mining, pvp pretty much require every skill I mentionned pushed to at least lv4, and a whole lot others beside that.

I am useing a exicutioner only for mining tho i did a couple of kill pirates things but was in the fat man friget

Excellent advice posted so far.
For an added point: When that day comes when you do get a Battleship, be sure to insure it.

well, u could of course get a bs if ur only usin it to mine, but then it would prolly be better to get a barge

ya I got a second account going the mining barge route but it will take a couple of weaks for all the dang certs
