I'm curious,, I know every corp and its mother in caldari space has the ability to make and sell Moa's. Arent these.. COMBAT only cruisers of the Navy supposed to require very high standing with Concord or The Caldari Navy. This is true of other ships for other races.. Why has this not been enforced. We already track security and faction ratings. Its too easy for anyone to get any ship they wish as it is. Either change the description on the ships or enforce it.. If someone doesnt have say a 7.0 faction rating to Caldari then any Cal Navy that sees them in ship should do something about it. Its like having a permit for a gun. If your not maintaining your permit its invalid and becomes illegal to use it. I think this should also affect corps,, A corp which sells a Moa to someone who has a low faction rating or sec rating should be warned before the sale goes through.. And if they still choose to do it then take a huge hit to tehre own faction rating to do this. This to me would also bring the black part of the eve world to life.

i think its because of butt heads selling copies of the print for the most part.
wait till we have the ability to research the origional prints into tech level 2 MOA's while the BP copy fanboys are all stuck with tech lvl 1 prints.
only thing is, maybe the people dishing out these piles of copies wont learn their lesson and then start making tech lvl 2 copies and selling them all over again.
number of copies you can make from a print needs restricting again.

Um, original discussion appeared to be about the 'rights' to own limited-availability items as described in their own info.
Responder goes off on a rant about Blueprints being the cause.
huh?
Sorry, but if there were instituted some required faction rating for ownership of the ship like the original poster stated, it wouldn't matter how many BPs were out there. TO sell the ships to those who "shouldn't" have them would still involve some sort of hit. And of course if such a test mechanism existed, it could be applied to the BP as well as the item itself.
I kind of agree with the original post...item descriptions implying limited availability and factional requirements to obtain something are simply not mandated by game mechanics, and if not mandated then everyone ends up migrating to the 'best' configuration. The reply above is, well, something of an off-topic thread hijacking.

Tip when performing necromancy: Try to get your response on a seperate page than the OP, then you get lots of people jumping to the last page and not recognizing it as a necro
