Most will see this as a troll thread I suppose, but it realy is not and I honestly don't get this.
Is the server back up?
only if is then I have a problem, my client said a patch has been downloaded and will now install. The game closes but nothing happens.
Maybe they temporarily released it and found a problem then blocked the installation, if on the other hand it is my computer it also makes no sence
as the most recent installation was the previous EVE patch, I had only just downloaded it and started the game as a returning player, this was working fine.
is any one else having this issue?

Server is supposed to be back up at 14:30 evetime, I downloaded the patch awhile ago and had no problem with installations. Make sure it didn't get minimized to your task bar. If you have to, again go to login screen and the notification about the parch should reappear hopefully and try again. Hope this helps...

still getting the same, this patch killed my game somehow, nothing in system processes when i click OK to install it either,
Is there any way to force it to download again?

It loads up the splash screen fine, then I get the box saying an update is ready to install.
I click OK and it goes to the desktop then nothing happens, nothing in task tray.
what I cant do is access any of the buttons on the screen after the game loads up, because as soon as this pop-up goes the game closes to install the patch, and so it seems to go on.
Checked everything, I was playing this game this morning so I just don't get whats happening.
All my other internet games work fine.
I don't have the luxury option of downloading a fresh install so I guess that after returning to EVE for a few days that's about all il get unless an admin comes to help and lets me know how to force the patch through again and try it that way?

Have you run the repair tool? And isn't there a dedicated thread for this sort of thing?

For future reference those threads are usually linked in the blog or news item for a given patch. It looks like 1.4.2 just got lumped into using the same feedback and issues threads as 1.4.
