Edited by: Commander Disarray on 12/04/2011 15:57:36 HTC Inspire. Who has this, and what are your thoughts?
I am with AT&T right now and can get this phone for $99 in June. I have a 3GS right now and was initially thinking of waiting for Iphone 5, until I came across this. It just came out like a month ago. It's basically an improvement of Sprint's HTC Evo. Amazing screen size!
I've handled this phone in the store and I'm impressed. Android looks great.
Some drawbacks that I can think of:
No front facing camera (I don't care) ****tier battery life (this will suck, but oh well)
I know Iphone 5 will be uber and all, but I'm beginning to hate Apple. This might be a perfect opportunity to jump that ship.
Damn, can't wait until June
EDIT: Can someone freeze me under some snow near a mountain and revive me in early June?

I have the Desire HD. Love it. Android is amazing and just as polished as Apples OS. Btw key to HTC battery life is turning the Wi-Fi off. I am up to 3 days per charge. on a screen the size of the hd that's a near miracle for a smart phone. My friends IP4 lasts day max.

Edited by: Ultim8Evil on 12/04/2011 20:25:34 The HTC Inspire is what you Americans have rebranded the Desire HD, isn't it?
I have an HTC Desire (non-HD)
Only got it 3 months ago as an insurance replacement for my ancient Nokia N97 that I "lost"
I'm due an upgrade at the end of April and I know for sure I will never have another non-Android phone again.
In comparsion, a friend of mine got an iPhone4 the week before I got my Desire, and he is now on his 3rd one

I currently have the HTC Wildfire. When i got it i thought this is ****ing awesome. Few months down the line - few thousand texts stored and the phone goes to ****. A Friend has the same phone and they say it's the same with theirs, takes ages to send a text, dosn't inform you when you recieved one.
Losing faith with HTC, was going to buy their Tablet - the Flyer. But opted for the iPad 2 as its cheaper and better quality of product for the price you pay.
I'd say look for a different kind of phone and stay away from the HTC, i'd even suggest blackberry - and this is coming from a guy who HATES Blackberrys and people with them with a passion lol.

I just got a Motorola Atrix. Dual-core battery sucking goodness. There are many reports of a defective touch screen. I got one and returned it for replacement. The replacement also has the exact same defect. There's an area near the top of the screen that doesn't register touch properly. It happens to fall right where you pull back the bird in angry birds, so if you get a bad phone you can't play the game.
I will be returning it and getting an Inspire. HI! |

Wait till June and buy HTC Inspire for $99, then sell lousy 3GS for $250 for profits.........?
Or get HTC Inspire now for $299 and sell lousy 3GS for $250 and no profits...........?
I don't need the money, it just feels good knowing I made a little off the deal. What do you gais think? Wait it out or get it now since it's uber and all and totally worth it?

Too many texts is a problem on any android phone. Silly to lose faith in a hardware manufacturer for a problem with the O/S. That's like losing faith in ASUS because Windows Vista sucks.

Isn't it possible to upload text files, to store on the PC? Can't think of any time, I've had a 'few thousand' texts stored on my phone tbh.
(But then again I have no mates)

The solution to this issue should be fairly simple to work out
Got and love the Desire - nicely made piece of kit and imho Android is going to be the future, like it (I do) or not...
