Edited by: Dyaven on 13/04/2011 03:18:15 I haven't missioned in a long time, but last time I did I remember LP:ISK ratios being about 1:800, however doing some quick math on the high commodity items in the LP store I'm not seeing anything with better than 1:600ish. Faction Ammo in particular is only around 1:500 which I found very surprising. Has LP been devalued over the past year or so, or am I looking at the wrong things?

I asked two yes or no questions. I suppose the answer could be yes to both, but clarify please?

Yes!
.... Just do the math for all the things, so you get the best ratio possible... But look at the implants... They seems to be one of the best (and you avoid collecting tags)

Edited by: Dyaven on 13/04/2011 06:41:34 I actually found implants to be some of the worst. (Unless you mean the slot 6-10ers, I haven't looked at all of them) But the +3s, +4s, and +5s are all ~400 isk/ip from what I saw.

Actually implants are worse, do more research. My ratio is 1:3000 and i can liquidate more than 100k lp in one non-weekend day, so it doesn't matter how much i make.

Edited by: Deerin on 13/04/2011 10:08:47 Look at various LP store rewards on this page: LP Store
You'll eventually find out that some corp's LP stores offer better items for LP/Isk conversion. The ratios you are encountering are common items which are present in every LP store, thus there is a high supply on those items. ------------------------------------------- Die Amarr Die!!! |

Generally everything below 1000 isk/lp is terrible.
Big secret of mission running. Take a long and careful look trough contracts to see what sells at what price. Check various corp LP stores in light of above. Pay attention to tag prices.
There, the great secret of ISK/LP.

In general, you want to buy good 5-run BPCs from the LP store and build from those rather than buying mods/ammo/implants outright. For instance a 5-run Fed Navy web BPC costs 60k LP, 24m, and 117m of tags bought at trade hub sell order prices (plus maybe 1m in materials). Each web sells for around 60m (conservatively), so you get (5*60 - 117 - 1 - 24)/60 = 2633 ISK/LP. You can do similarly well or better with specific BPCs from all of the different empire factions.
Now go make me some cheap webs, I've got ships that need pimping kthxbai. Signature removed. |

LP value strongly depends on which store you're using the Caldari Navy store is especially poor value because there are so many mission runners grinding LP for them. This means that the prices for the final product are depressed due to more competition on the supply side, but also the prices for insignia are much higher because there are more people needing those insignia. Don't good 5-run BPC's usually belong to non-combat corps? That's how they stay "good"...

I run for a corp (when I actually feel like running missions) that is a "non-combat" corp, but still has access to a 5run bpc. I get my LP by running for a nice, high quality lvl 4 combat agent. Yes, he isn't completely combat, think it is something like 90% combat 10% courier, and there aren't more lvl 4 combat agents from his corp within 1-2 jumps, but at least I don't have to mine for those BPC's.

Make a spreadsheet of both your corp and ones in your faction. Change to different products if need be
Don't tell the man anything!
Make lots of faction ammo. Get all your friends to make faction ammo. You like faction ammo. Faction ammo. Undercut all your friends so your faction ammo sells faster. Faction ships are good too. As many as you can. Undercut everybody!
...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |
