Awesome game.
I'm a fan of both teams, so I was happy either way. But it came down to the last seconds.
Patriots 4tw
(The Paul McCartney halftime was alot better than any tripe they have done in the last 10 years.)

Edited by: Galk on 07/02/2005 08:57:31 Ok game of football.
Neither realy a pats or a philly fan though, kinda drops the edge off it, i got the feeling it's gona be some years before the packers make it back now
These days id rather watch the playoff games which are generaly more exciting, or as finals, certainly the college BCS series... much more amazing atmosphere and passion from the crowd to the game.
Still, monday off work, same as every year, no doubt same the next
Well done New England.
*Ummm, edit for a the score...
24-21

Well i had a go at watching it, never really taken much intrest in american football but i thought id give it a go and to be frank...it was a pile o ****e.
Incredibly boring and slow and the adverts drove me INSANE. How can people put up with so many adverts during the game? Alright great if youve got a weak bladder and need a **** every 20 seconds but i just dont see the appeal. After watching the rugby all weekend even the slightly irritating kicking game that was walves vs england was 100 times more enthralling than the superbowl, which i found very difficult to get into. I didnt watch the whole ITV coverage, so perhaps they explained all the rules beforehand - but then again i dont know rugby inside out (more of a football fan meself) and i still enjoyed the six nations this weekend.
Mebee its me but i just dont find fat americans running around in tights to be that appealing. On a side note id love to see what some of those guys would do after taking a hit from say Gavin Henson or Wilkinson...

Summed up perfectly
I watched the last Quarter and tbh the last 5mins wasn't too bad, American Football could do with being reduced to ~10mins per game (although it would still prolly take 6 hrs to get through )
On a side note, only Scotland could press the self-destruct button so professionally

I agree that the Superbowl was a little boring, but us people from England probably just dont understand. It seems to me that most popular American sports are just versions of our sports but with a silly twist.
Basketball = Netball with bouncing (plus men instead of girls) Baseball = Rounders with a 2 handed bat, 3 go's at hitting the ball, massive oven gloves to help catch the ball, plus a world series where no other country is invited American Football = Rugby with armour and lots of stops for adverts and little rests every 10 yards(Cos the fat men in tights cant keep going like our own Rugby lads)

in my opinion of course.......
Like me? hate me? It doesnt matter, i'm still going to kill you. |

/me agrees
it was a good game considering it was supposed to be the boring one, both teams played with heart.
Im a Pats fan so it was especially sweet, a good year to be from Boston (im from near, so doesnt count) congrats to the boys, cant wait to see the parade!
Oh Weeman, its funny that you bring up rugby, since he didnt ask your opinion on the matter. If you hate it when people compare football and rugby, then stop doing it!

Was never a big sports fan. I prefer watching boxing or K1, heh. But I was forced to watch it this year. It was soooo boring until we started passing the bong around. Then.. I found myself cheering like a highschool girl.
One thing I never understood though.. Why cant you rip the ball out of their hands, and run the other way? I mean.. do you have to wait till they accidently drop it, miss a pass, or it's your turn to run to the big yellow sticks?
It would be much more interesting if you could kick their knees out, grab the ball, and run away.

if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |

As a kid I used to love WWF and NFL.
At about the same time, I realised both were scripted junk whose sole intention was to make money from advertisement and promotion with very little in the way of excitement.
Unfortunately, this seems to be the way the UK Premiership is going.........

The SuperBowl was completely boring. If it hadn't been for all of the Eagle's turnovers the game would still be 0 to 0 in tripple-quadruple-googleplex-overtime at this very moment.
I was hoping for a shootout where both teams successfully made plays, got first downs and moved the ball. Instead I was left with boring nonsense where it came down to which team screwed up less. And to top it off the game ended on a knee.
The SuperBowl SUCKED.

totally agree. football football, namely the premiership is full of corruption and ****e. stopped watching league football around 8 years ago and started watching rugly leagure ;)
bit **** though, the media always spinning this "vendetta" of wenger and ferguson off.. it sounds like something from wwf :/ i can imagine "storylines" being wrote into premiership football very soon ;)
and yes. the "football" last night was dire. how can anyone be content with watching that for like 4 hours? :/ ----- ----- -----

good game, but it hurts again.
Philly is my fav team, and i've watched them lose the past 4 years in the superbowl or one game short. Worst part is my 2nd fav team is the Panthers and i had to watch them lose the superbowl last year.
Not much fun...

Canada is invited, provided that one of their teams make it that far.

Well yes. Being a lions fan sounds pretty damn rough. At least w/ the vikes you can see them going 8-8 and at least making the playoffs.
Lions...no chance. Even w/ Barry they sucked. And that's mind boggling to me, as he makes Emmitt Smith look slow.

I remember when a bunch of American football players went to Aus. to play against the m8s down under. The news reporters were interviewing a bunch of the aussie players prior to the landing of the yanks. The m8s were laughing about how the yanks all needed armor to play a bit of a game.
After the plane landed and the m8s got a good look at the actual size of the yanks, they understood why the armor. "Those yanks are HUGE "
Size and Armor (tanking) Mega 4 teh win!

Why is it called "football" anyway? 1) You play more with your hands. 2) It's not a ball.
Must be the dumbest sports ever invented. Ideal for adverts of course, and for people with a short attention span.
