Edited by: Enna Shendara on 13/04/2011 11:49:23 Edited by: Enna Shendara on 13/04/2011 11:47:37 Just to let CCP know and ask the community for an alternate source, warner music group, bunch of ***gots that they are, having blocked the second of 5 vids of the chessboxing, presumably over background music or something similarly ******ed.

<sarcasm> But you have to understand, guys!! Those poor, destitute record producers and their millions of dollars are barely scraping by right now - these are tough times! In fact, CCP's selfish, greedy behaviour regarding the clearly unfair and dangerously illegal use of a group of prerecorded and publicly recognisable soundwaves was a step over the line in anybody's book. I for one am glad that a company such as Warner Music Group have taken the litigious high road in this matter, seeing fit to spread misery and a cold, bitter understanding of greed to folks throughout the world, where context is irrelevant and jealous, fevered clawing at the eyes of anything remotely resembling a 'copyright infringement' becomes the issue at hand. </sarcasm>
In other words, ***k Warner Music Group and any other pathetic, money-grabbing empire that sees fit to treat people like the ****-ants we're seen as. "Grammatically, the word 'nothing' is a noun, which suggests that it refers to something." - Wikipedia |

It is also blocked in the US.
If you LOVE karaoke please make sure your KJ is legit. Ask him if he has an original manufacturers disc for every song on his hard drive. I work for a karaoke producer and our company has been devastated by people buying hard drives full of music from pirates. The company I work for has been reduced from 90 employees to 9. We have not made new music for the last year and a half, because the last 5 discs we made had the music given or sold by pirates to thousands of KJs and we could not even make back our production costs much less a profit.
STOP KARAOKE PIRACY.

This seems to work fine. There are two sides to the EVE community; those that scream for change and those that scream against it. Often they are the same person. |

dont ****ing violate copyright laws and say the website abiding by the law sucks because of it.
I am sure you would love it if there was a pirate eve server, play on it for free, and then say they suck when it gets shut down . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

I think people would complain a lot less, if youtube had to actually confirm the claims instead of just blocking every video where someone makes a claim and leaving the burden of proof to the owner of that video. It wouldn't be so bad even then, but a big claimer like WMG can block everything it wants and never be responsible for making false claims. I've seen those copy right claims on videos where the music was specifically chosen to be uncopywrited so they could use it on youtube and not get blocked.
It's also possible that CCP paid for the permission to use the music, but they just made the claim just to be on the safe side. They have nothing to lose, in a short term business sense, by forcing CCP to dispute their claim.
EDIT: The video is from the EVE fanfest, but it isn't the one on CCPGAMES channel. Looks like a recording taken from the live stream.

If they get a takedown notice you can always, you know, counter claim. After that it goes back up and they have to take you to court over it. Really simple process. But people cam-ripping from the livestream probably realize they don't have a legit reason to keep it up. -- Did you know there's an alliance who's name you're not allowed to say, or website you're not allowed to link? |
