Roderigo Borgia The Collective Against ALL Authorities	Posted - 2011.04.13 17:59:00 - [1] ok so patch comes- thats fine to be expected - but wait it corrupts my eve client - thanks very much eve doesn't work and got skills needing changed soon download whole client manually - files corrupt try eve installer for whole client - downloaded and installation corrupt WTF!!!!! I cant play eve and have downloaded 12gb of corrpt files might have unlimited internet service but willing to bet i'm at the back of the cue for high speed service now Not impressed and SERIOUSLY thinking about quitting eve

Especially when several tens of thousands of other people downloaded it just dandy. But really, because yours failed, that's CCP's fault. Go with that. /Your stuff, I don't want.

Also patching before it's been officially acknowledge as being ready for download can result in an incorrect build. Best to do a clean reinstall if that happens.
Roderigo Borgia The Collective Against ALL Authorities	Posted - 2011.04.13 18:39:00 - [9] tried the repair tool but its failed miserably too - giving it one more go then yeah i'm quitting - downloading the whole f'ing even client 4 times is 3 times to many i agree that seems strange i'm the only one having this problem but considering ti worked perfectly before and the rest of my internet service is working jsut fine - i'm content to blame ccp somehow

Like Kaspersky would corrupt files when downloading Age of Conan so had to turn the internet security off to download (never liked doing that). Of course this is a shot in the dark, but could it be a firewall/virus checker that's causing the problem.

Use of routers for large scale patches will often times corrupt client / patches. Second - use chribbas torrents. Third - if your exe doesnt execute properly an error message will pop up with the bad files. You need to delete those files manually then run the repair tool. This will download a fresh version of that file to replace it. 4th - if you are using AVG, or Avira, yeah turn them off, infact turn off all fire walls and what not. Those also block a good and correct download. So stop blaming CCP dumbass. There are more than just 1 thing that can go wrong when downloading large files. You like many others just blame CCP which makes you look dumb especially when you post crap like this on the forums.
Roderigo Borgia The Collective Against ALL Authorities	Posted - 2011.04.13 19:35:00 - [17] well - good news to report i uninstalled previous version - deleted the stuff in the docs folder, rebooted my computer, thinking a new clean download and install clicked the eve downloader thing, and rather pleasingly it jumped to step 2 saying it was using previously downloaded data, then installed. Must have been some issue with the installer not corrupt data, weird but frankly now its working again i dont care

So you're thinking about quitting EVE because you can't be patient enough to wait for CCP to fix this problem (which hasn't existed very long at all really) and decided to download 12GB of data, when you could've glanced in the forums once and seen that it's an issue with CCP, not with you? You're acting like you trying to download and install the entire EVE client twice is CCP's fault and not yours.
