My Postman	Posted - 2011.04.14 11:55:00 - [19] Thank you for that information. I¦m still waiting for a week with less than 7 hours downtime, as it was before "nerfing downtimes". When we had a one hour downtime usually TQ was up after half an hour. Nice improvement, CCP.

My point is, if they said DT was an hour but they managed to get it done in 30 mins, everyone would be happy and would have to cause to spam the forums whining.

Ironically downtime used to be scheduled as one full hour. Often it was less than. You never saw threadnoughts thanking CCP for this though. To the Aussies: I totally feel for you guys about the inconvenience of downtime but the honest truth is that Aussies are not the only ones inconvenienced. In today's workplace there are more people than ever not on a "normal" 9 - 5 schedule. So stop making it about being an Aussie. The truth of the matter is this: The timing of downtime is set for the best opportune time for good management. CCP has a few hours early in the morning to debate any pending changes prior to initiating. The last minute go/no go checks. If disaster happens, all hands (or most hands) are available for triage. Nothing personal, just plain logistics. Wealth, howsoever got, in Eve makes Lords of morons and gentlemen of thieves; Aptitude and intellect are needless here; 'Tis impudence and money that grants fame.

It seems as though everything is currently directed to attracting new players and the older ones who made this game what it is, can like it or lump it. Eventually, the number of players not resubbing will exceed new accounts and all of a sudden CCP will find they have a gigantic problem of their own making.

I think to be honest you must have been spoilt in earlier times by CCP to even think about whinging because the server is down for an extra 20 mins etc. no I'm not affiliated with CCP in anyway I pay I play and 95% of the time I'm playing without problems. I think to be honest this forum needs to be sponsered by "Saga or Help the Aged" due to the seemingly large amount of whinging/moaning old cnuts on here

So I know about bugs and resolution time. I started EvE in the GMT+2 TZ, so DT was never an issue for me...it had almost no impact on my gaming whatsoever. So I didn't care if it took an hour or two longer. Now that I am in the AEST TZ, it lands smack in the prime time here. So unless you have to live with DT in your prime time, you have no idea (I didn't, till I moved here) how frustrating it is for people to try do anything that takes a while, like long L4 missions, or 0.0 PvE / PvP. I almost bet you, that should CCP move the DT 2-3 hours later, that the amount of whinging would almost disappear. But, CCP won't do it, and you guys get to live with AU TZ players' whinging. Nobody's forcing you to read those threads, and nobody is forcing you to respond to those threads. Anyway... when you oneday get the unfortunate opportunity to have at least a part of your daily playing time stopped, you can't really even understand. Try this, start playing for an hour in your prime time, then stop what you're doing in EvE for 30-60 minutes, every day, then you can start to understand. And then, try twice in one week, to not play for 4 hours. Till then, I politely request that you STFU. -G

I'm always amazed at how selfish & inconsiderate some Northerners are, it almost always seems to be US residents - guess they are known for the above mentioned personality traits!
