Edited by: Tarigal on 15/04/2011 03:58:52 No real point to this post, so flame away if you like, but its a good lesson in NOT clicking that box that says "Are you sure you wish to sell this at %99.99 percent below region average?"
Best trade of the day by far, join me in a laugh.
Btw, I was on the BUYING end lol.
Edit: Let's make this post useful, anyone else have good stories of such awesomeness from the honest mistakes of another?

I probably do but I really don't pay that much attention. LaVista Vista used to live for such deals. I do remember that something like this did happen once though and the person was bold enough to evemail about making a correction. I did and we're still friends to this day!

lol I had a 20 stack of certain faction modules worth about 50 mil each in jita a couple of weeks ago, was about 2am and wasn't thinking clearly, so the entire stack goes up for 50 mil; contract gets accepted almost instantly and I learn a valuable lesson - don't play eve while tired....

I had three chelm's cr's from a sold super cap and listed it for 5 or 6 billion, but didn't account for the STACK.
Needless to say I put expensive stuff in a different container now and only sell it while at work (and sober).... You live and you learn..

Something that often needs repeating along with "Paranoia is good".
"Tab is your friend, enter is your enemy"
With the Eve UI enter most often confirms things and you'll find yourself quickly screwed. Tab on the other hand moves focus and for numeric entry fields "formatting" then gets applied and you can see disaster... and ok has not been pressed yet. So repeat after me:
"Tab is your friend, enter is your enemy"

That's going to be a player-controlled station to which you're not going to have docking access. So you dash headlong to Deklein, accept the contract as soon as you hit the region jump (because you're reckoning that there're others on their way to take advantage of this mistake), but -- woe is you -- you're not able to dock at the station with your new JF. Your options are now limited to eating the loss or trying to find someone else who will fall for the same scam (cos you can bet that all players with access to the station are in on the deal).

I think you are missing the point:
A) If you can't access the station now then you have only spent 5.5m (oh noes, thats what 1 triple BS spawn at a belt?)
B) You can set up a remote contract sell order at the full (correct) price
and C) If you are absolutely desperate to have that JF then station ownership doesn't last forever and you may at some future point be able to get access.
Personally I'd just go for B and when it eventually sells laugh manically at my wallet / buy a new one in Jita.

It was my first scam contract, I wanted to see if this really works. I pretty much forgot about the contract after a week, until I saw my contract icon flash.. I nearly crapped myself when I realised a second later why it was flashing.
I don't really like it though, i even gave back 10b because I felt guilty <.<. I do sometimes make new ones now but they never work any more lol. Call it growing cynical and bitter over the years. I've stopped caring.
I used the money to buy pi mats at the PI expansion and cashed in a few months after

"Someone bough 26k Fusion M from me today for 1.88b. Was kind of surprised to see my wallet that fat suddenly.
Easy mistake though. Last night i accidentally put in two zeros too much in a buy order resulting in 108m brokers fee's costs. Ive also sold a viator for 107k instead of 107m once. Never lost 1.88b on a misclick though "

seem someone was trying to mess with the region averages, so buy orders were very high, guessing someone had fallen for it to push up his wallet enough to cover the buy orders, that was a nice one. not a huge amount but seeing as i was looking at a few hundred k, it made me smile :)

Similar experience. Sitting in Amarr waiting for a skill to wind up so that I could fly a ship out...watching all of the scam contracts...I put up an Imperial Navy Bestower for 700m and linked the contract in local. It was gone in 30sec. Made me a bit ill that such things work so quickly...had to leave hisec out of fear of addiction.

WTB any amount of JFs at 50 millions. Contract now. You're probably underestimating how easy it is to get in an alliance / conquer stations. And deklein? I guess you said it wouldn't be accessible. Recruitment policies there would let any awoxer get through. Though they'll kick you for being a JF pilot if you dare show it to them, since they think JF pilots are spies, cept for the ones that are already there :D
