Edited by: Patient 2428190 on 15/04/2011 09:14:23 Corporations and the right set of people made all the difference in the world, as I don't think the solo wolf existance is viable for the majority of players
How did you find the current crop of bros to fly with?
For me, I started playing the game with the bright idea with a few RL friends to found and run a corporation with ourselves. While this was fun and rewarding, nobody really wanted the role of "corp leader" so it boiled down to few buddies running solo stuff and sharing a chat channel. Needless to say, this wasn't a very viable option if you wanted to do the larger scale things in EVE, so I moved on from that. From there, and still being new, I figured the in game recruitment channels would be a good place to look . A few sets of Providence residents later, I had a decent time but in the end it wasn't very stable and wasn't the thing I was looking for.
I took mostly a long break came back in time for FW when it was new and shiny. Flew with a smallish corp that had just left 0.0, but once they got the giggles out of their system, started to look to get back into the nullsec game. Then I decided to just say F*** it, just went full outlaw. Moved all my stuff to whole new region, in lowsec and just flew around solo for awhile, shooting everything I could see. Eventually got spotted by local corp and recruited by them. From there, bounced to a few different corps in the same area, shooting things and having a blast.
So short version, I found my corp trial by fire and I honestly have no plans in leaving any time soon. Your stories and experiences?
...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

Was with Smegnet Incorporated for little more than 2 years consecutalively. Found it via the Danish channel where I plain asked for a good corp, and this one guy just invited me and they were a really good bunch.
Back then... I miss it, but Smegnet Incorporated has since rottened away under the leadership of Gerrin whom has become blinded over the past half year or so.

We found a shared love for killing Amarrians in FW There are two sides to the EVE community; those that scream for change and those that scream against it. Often they are the same person. |

Been in 3 corps since '06. First of which I found through the recruitment channel, joined and we were in FTC then R0adkill. Second corp I found was after I got back from a 2 year break and they were a member of WI.(Not a word, the corp and it's members were quite good and fun ;D) then I left after WI. got lol****d by Atlas and co. After that I went back to low sec and joined a FW corp because of a friend in a channel and been there for over 9 months. Wouldn't change a thing Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? After some experience in 0.0, when I was still new to the game and after much disappointment with it, I knew exactly what I was looking for and what I wanted to do. I just asked in the forums and found the right corp after browsing through answers. After a year, I wanted to try lowsec piracy, as well as many from my old corp, so we joined together a pirate corp.
Right now, I dont have that much time to play anymore, so I am slowly repairing my sec status in order to enter empire again and just carebear there from time to time. Still am in contact with most of my old corpies.
If you know what you want to do in this game, its pretty easy to find like- minded people. Others find them through trial- and error and changing many corps and playstyles.

Found one once, long time a go but things changed and I left, took a long break from EVE too.
Haven't found one since though, but I'm in no rush, I have a co pilot to keep me company.

The corp I used to frequent was TINCO (ticker), good bunch of guys with a good CEO.
But with my love/hate relationship with this game, I've been in and out of bed with this game like a tart on a Saturday night.
Anyway, these days started my own corp on a new character (not this one), good way to avoid taxes. At least until the character improves with relation to sp.

I was flying un-escorted in a T1 hauler through 0.0 and a group of pirates asked if I wanted to join them.

I just went online to view the Sex Offender's register, started alphabetically with little success, so I started with the ones that had a penchant for little boys. Bingo.

First corp I ever joined was some high sec corp, that in retrospective was pretty bad. They kicked me because I was a noob, then they went to FW and imploded. Mining corp after that, where I found out that mining is the ****tiest thing you could ever do in this game. Quit game for a bit.
Came back directly into 0.0. Met many nice people, pew pewed along with ZAF/goons against BoB. Then alliance emo raged, my corp went to the NC (Majesta Empire). The moment I started to do halfway serious "PVP" with people of a sister corp, I found out just about how ****ing terrible ME and the NC was (like seriously, good lord. Gotta leave them that they improved though). Got kicked for backstabbing because I didn't tell my CEO that I was about to leave. The corp I joined then went on into an unaligned PVP alliance. Since it slowly fell apart due to members becoming inactive, I also became inactive and got kicked for lack of PVP. Not a big loss though, today they're in one of the worst alliances of the game.
Joined a corp within GC, which was prolly the best time I had till today. But then the alliance slowly got flooded with pubbies and carebears, so almost all good players left the corp to different places. Found many many friends in there tho. Went on to some corp within NCdot, didn't like the direction the alliance was heading to. Went back to my old corp, found out that it basically became a corp of PVEers who fail to teach all the noobs they recruit how to PVP.
Joined my current corp, what can I say. Being with many nice people and long known ex-GC friends, killing NC scrubs all night long.. well I found my endgame.

I'm a huge science fiction nerd, saw a corp that was DUNE themed, and the rest is history. It has been only 9 months but it seems like years with the amount of things the corp has done. By the way, real men biomass when they emoragequit.

But only after a couple of years bouncing around corps that just weren't right for one reason or another. Mostly found through the recruitment chanel, which as a CEO I don't actually use.

The first corp only lasted 1 month. Then i recruited myself (yea, i asked around what good corps are) into a corp and had the greatest 2,5 years of my EVE life, have seen the first titans build, the first titans die, small gang warefare, large fleet battles (the first 500, the first 1000), i saw BS Blobs, i saw MS blobs, i saw Titan blobs.
I needed a break from the old DD-Madness, as fights got boring and everything subcapital was not needed anymore.
Since then, i wander around, was in 2-3 great corps, but nothing like the 2,5 years before. We will see what happens next.

First corp was a noob corp where the ceo booted a guy due to his reputation, only to have him come back and declare war. After such declaration, noob CEO decided it would be a good idea to talk smack to him, a veteran with billions of isk and tons of SP. I left, joined a corp in Amarr space for about a year even though I was Gallente. Had a good mix of industrial/pvp/mishes and really learned a lot from the veterans in that corp. Outgrew it and decided to come back to Gal space.
Was roaming with a buddy in low sec in OMS, jumped a guy and then all his buddies swarmed in on us and owned us. I was so impressed by their teamwork and such I decided to join their FW corp and have been here since. Love every second of it.
