sounds logical, yes? (to have a such feature) well, then guess what? why prolly wont have it :] ...cause we actualy could use it/need it.
arguing with cccp reminds me talking with a woman. logic in that case is a waste of time.
ok, let me use some other aproach. maybe this will get to you, folks :

no, 1 client running is fine. remember times when i was able to run 7+ clients smootly but hey...
it's about adding some, actualy useful things to this game/GUI like :
- lock resolution - download ugly avatars when clicked - etc.
...you know. the useful stuff, which could be very handy for players.
but it's ok, cccp. continue your work on walking inside stations. that will be very, very useful. like someone said, i will be able to spin inside stations in all dimensions, not only in plain 360*.
keep up the 'good' work, cccp. o7

sorry to nitpick but it's CCP not CCCP. CCCP is a rather useful codec package that a hell of a lot of people use.

Why don't you play in Fixed Window mode? It's a mix between fullscreen and windowed (the client takes up the full screen, but you can alt-tab just as fast as windowed mode).

last time I checked, fixed window did exactly this.
On a related note, that computer is way more then two years old. Mine is 3 years old, and its running 1600x900 spanned across two monitors with sound (lol?) and medium settings across the board. It occasionally drops framerate to 10 when I'm in the middle of a gas cloud with lots of lighting effects.
You could replace that with something more powerful for less then $250AU.

check fixed window mode. it wont work. i need to have window as small as possible (1024x768), got at least 5 of them in the same time, i need to be able to switch between them fast and have to see their overviews, so fixed mode is off.
they should turn that option off (to be able to resize window via mouse). after all, who needs 1271x863 resolution? no one has that insane monitor.

And there is your problem. CCP doesn't officially support multiple clients, that's very relevant information.
If you want to run 5 clients at a time (and more power to you if you do) that's your problem. Don't ask for dev time to be directed towards this. Fixed window solves the problem for all single client situations, anything beyond that is your problem. If you need a multi-client fix, I suggest you either code your own, or pay someone (ISK or IRL money, up to you) to do it for you.

yes, 'cause i am the only one who has 1+ accounts and is actualy using them in the same time. and lets say i use 1 account at all times. i wonna play in 1024 top, wonna see some movie in background or read some web when doing tedious mining and i am tired of resizing window each time i click on edge of eve client, how about that? beside, we i AND others are expecting from cccp is to implement some actualy useful changes to GUI we realy could use. but no... lets spend time on new forum with search function that actualy works! (welcome to 1995) and walking in stations, yeah. cause that what players really need, right?
dude, what i ask cccp to do is usualy simple, useful. those changes can be done probably in an hour or two max so shut up.
but this is only another example that cccp doesnt give a flying fack about what players actualy need. they got some 25 years hot-shot from marketing, dude who probably is still a virgin and he will tell them, cccp, what they really need to do/implement in game. dude who probably never played this game longer than for an hour or two.
shame on you, cccp. o7

I ignored the rest of your post.
You are the only person I know of who fulfills the criteria of
a) running multiple accounts b) not knowing about window management software c) being stupid enough to run more clients then your computer can handle.
Most people who get far enough into eve to try a) are smart enough to think about b) and c)
Your abject ******ation does not merit developer time.

Argument aside, I'm with the OP here.
Fixed window is useless... Unless I'm very much mistaken, multiple clients sit in the same fixed window location, making it as useful as alt-tabbing multiple fullscreen instances without the benefit of a full screen.
Kara... Does any of that windowing management software actually work properly? Eg, is there one which will remember which account goes where, and which prevents resizing? I've only ever found really buggy crap that doesn't work properly.
If not, then an allow resize checkbox option would take all of 5 minutes to code, and an extra 5 minutes in the next test cycle to test. It would be a very cheap useful function. ---- I belong to Silent Ninja (Hopefully that should cover it). |

OP never mentioned anything about dual clients....
But now you are talking..
It would be nice to run dual screens at Full Screens.
we shouldn't have to employ 3rd party software to do this, the game should natively support it.

multiple clients - that subject came up a few post ago. you never read thread before you post?
and fixed window mode is, i dont know, a mistake? why one would need that mode? cant find any use of it.

Incorrect.
Fixed window mode does not allow 2 screens at full screen. It allows 2 screens at Window mode. (The same as windowed mode.)
it doesn't actually have a purpose.
Dual screens at Fullscreen is what I want, Not dual screens at windowed mode ,(Fixed or not.) |

I use it to play like this.
I have done for the last year. No start menu, just the game.
Fixed window has a purpose. Everyone in this thread could use fixed window to their advantage. If you don't understand that purpose, and are unwilling to be told about it, that's your own damn problem. Don't complain about things you know nothing about.
I shall now stop instructing you all on how to fix your problems, since none of you want to hear. Fortunately, it matters not because CCP officially does not support multiple clients, so they won't give a damn what the OP wants, and they have already (as I just showed you) implemented an effective multimonitor solution that ticks all the boxes, so they won't engineer a new one because you can't wrap your mind around the existing one.
I'm officially out of care, you guys can circle-jerk and cry into each others shoulders all you want.

CCP supports multi-account using like McDonald's pushes crack on its customers.
"Power of Two" should be enough proof in the pudding if you really don't believe them.
Their reversal of support for multi-account UI's is (in my opinion) a cop out or sign of lazyness on the part of the company.
CCP has been pushing us to use multi-accounts since atleast 2005, its time they took it the rest of the way and implemented some scripts/UI's which are useful to us. So in essence the OP has a great point: where are the features your game demands? And don't send us to 3rd party sites, I hate that crap. Besides, you can be banned for using 3rd party programs with this game, so why risk it?
Seems to me CCP either needs to revisit the UIs or the EULA. And I think I know how the GP feels about the EULA already.
BTW, great pun with CCCP, and thanks for the history lesson too, for those who don't know what CCCP was.

they should turn that option off (to be able to resize window via mouse). after all, who needs 1271x863 resolution? no one has that insane monitor.
I have a 2560x1440 monitor. I kinda like they FINALLY added the new option to properly resize the EVE client.
You can use software like ATI's HydraVision HydraGrid to segment you screen. Make a segment of 1024x768. Place the EVE inside the segment and it maximize so it fills out the segment.
You might think that someone who needs an odd resolution is weird.... Well, someone might think the same about a guy who needs 5 clients opened in a small resolution and the windows NEEDS to be locked.. A bit weird.

Maybe I'm missing yours too, because I'm not sure what the hell you heading with that lecture on what multitasking is.
My point is, get some 3rd party software to lock your window size, at a specific spot on your monitor(That's the whole point of your thread, no?) use your 1337 multitasking skills to opening up a browser.

check fixed window mode. it wont work. i need to have window as small as possible (1024x768), got at least 5 of them in the same time, i need to be able to switch between them fast and have to see their overviews, so fixed mode is off.
they should turn that option off (to be able to resize window via mouse). after all, who needs 1271x863 resolution? no one has that insane monitor.
I have 3 clients, all in fixed mode, all overviews are visible. What i'm doing wrong? If you don't know how to use basic functions of operating system installed on your PC, you should probably get some paid lessons. They will teach you where to right-click and how "move window" function works... -- Thanks CCP for cu |

ps. oh, btw iirc you were unable to resize your window to some dumb resolutions not too while ago. just some standard, fixed options were available... and they were working fine, but cccp had to 'fix' that too i guess :]

CCP even removed the ability to change your character's attributes while you are still making them, which means you have to get a Neural Remap. In the character creation, you coulde change your character's attributes, and then in Incursion, they removed it. ________________________________________________
I swear, on most forums these days, the people who have been on for long periods of times are usually idiots, except for those in charge |

cheers.
ps. is there a big difference between bumping a threat once in a while or simply starting the same one every 24hrs? i think not (hence i prefer civilized bumping) ... but for troglodyte like you it looks like it is :]

well, cccp, first of all, is a corporation. they are here to make profit.
and since the avg. IQ of homo-sapiens is dropping rapidly they (cccp) has to adapt, or vanish. Eve is getting more and more like WoW therefor being more attractive for WoW-like-zombies. around 2004-2005 eve was a challenge, adventure where the most powerful weapon was simply a human brain. now it's just pew-pew-shotter with cool starships. that's all.
so.. welcome to Zombieland, mate :]
