Legion 1. Lowest damage 2. Lowest DPS tank 3. Second best buffer tank 4. Doesnt need ammo (good for ratting / WH) Tengu 1. Highest Medium - Long Range Damage 2. Second Highest dps tank 3. Lacks PG for good buffer tank Proteus 1. Highest buffer tank 2. Highest low range damage 3. Second lowest dps tank 4. With correct subsystem can warp disrupt from 60km i think Loki 1. Fastest 2. Highest DPS tank 3. Eats munitions (6x 1.8second RoF ACs UGH) 4. With correct subsystem can stasis web from 40km i think
Though they are not especially good for any 1 task. The point in T3 is flexability to do many tasks in a single ship.

Loki is decent for both pvp and pve. Very fast, low sig, decent buffer, long web, popular for incursions.
Tengu is by far best for pve, worst for pvp. Extreme range, high missile dps on slow moving rats, low real dps in pvp situations, no drones, high rep, low buffer, resist hole. Ecm sub worthless.
Proteus is by far the best for pvp, worst for pve. Very high dps, brick ehp buffer, long point/scram.
Legion is crap for both pvp and pve. Mediocre buffer, poor dps, poor range. Neut sub worthless. It's like a more expensive Zealot.

Edited by: Daneel Trevize on 15/04/2011 18:16:57 The tengu is not crap for pvp, the dps and range plus things like 100mn ab are powerful. See the Genos vids. Also it easily has the highest dps tank, it can do over 10,000dps omni tank if you invest and don't just get volleyed.
The proteus is only great in some situations, other times you're a medium blasters boat without a web or cap booster even if you can do over 500dps with a cov ops cloak.
The legion is not bad at pve, it's just tied to em-thermal damage unless you go HAMs but pve likes range. For pvp it is weaker, but some say that's because the zealot is already so good, plus the harb, guardian, Sac, etc. The main way it can shine is when you use more than one t3 feature, such as buffer, cloak, neuts and rr, or more commonly the HAM 100mn ab with 90k ehp plus 500-1000reps and built in eccm. Cloaky dps is terrible.
The loki has many fitting options, and can shield or armour tank. Usually best with the long web bonus worked in there. |

Depends very much what your corp is using them for and what you set them up with. Your choices really depend on the corp, situation and player for any T3.
Legion: Great neut boat without the mass of a Bhaalgorn for WH PVP, no ammo, great L4 mission boat because the fancy mods are so cheap it's worthless to gank you compared to a Tengu.
Proteus: Should I show you on the dolly where the bad Proteus touched me after decloaking right on top of me? Tends to get a bad rep for anything else. I think it's overstated and underused compared to the Tengu. Unlike the Tengu, the pilot makes the Proteus look great, not the Proteus makes the pilot look great.
Tengu: The goto mission/WH ship. Up there with Nightmares for favorite mission ship to gank for it's fancy modules. Eats ammo like a fat kid with a bag of candy. It's popular to say the least. Xmas for me would be ganking a fleet of Tengus with my alliance that were running a WH site.
Loki: See that dread in siege, see that Loki web that Sleeper BS, see the Sleeper BS die, that's what Loki's can do.
I think most T3's are piloted by people who came up through their race's cruisers. The most important part is the player's skill and fleet comp. I'm still a nub, so I'd follow what Daneel Trevize said. I'm still trying to decide if I want to fly a Loki(webs) or Legion(neuts) next.

Dont use a legion for lvl 4's. Its a pretty crappy t3 ship, Amarr's t2 ships outperform the legion (or pretty much the same), for a far smaller price.

Actually it eats quite a lot conflag(with a TC heavy setup it is perfectly usable) and Scorch when flown with 3-4 heat sinks. ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank!

a pvp tengu will destroy everything, so long as you don't run into a curse...
3x CN BCS 2x Sansha RC
1x domination web 1x domination warp disruptor 1x core c-type 100mn AB 1x gist c-type x-l shield booster 1x caldari navy invuln 1x medium cap booster II navy 800s
5x caldari navy HML caldari navy scourge
amp node accel bay dissolution cap regen matrix fuel cat
1x anti-em screen II 2x ancillery router
515 dps... also, no excuse not to be using this with crystals and bluepill... so has 1400/1806 dps tank, which OL forever ^^ (thats a lot of deeps, especially wen ur going anywhere from 150-1700m/s --> 2300m/s
semi sig tanking/huge shield boosting, 100mn laffing gonna **** all over your projected tengu kill! :D.. only thing is I havn't tried it out, however i'm a bit "gung ho" so I will no doubt try it very soon :)
or a similar setup in a nighthawk will paste "DOH!" across many a forehead on to the next comment -----------------------------------------------------------------> ....where's the down arrow?? --------------------->>>>> |

Tengu can carry about a 100k+ shield buffer and put out around 600 DPS with HAMs. It's good in PvP if it's fit right.

My drake gets 100k EHP and 550 dps. Do you see the problem here...?

If I hold my erm.. finger lets say, up to the screen, it is about the same size as a drake zoomed out a little.. this doesn't make my finger awesome at pvp.. or it does, cos i pretty good there in that area. apendage wise.
wat i mean is, if u get a banana, and have a machariel, its about the same size as the machariel on the screen... this doesn't mean the banana is good at PvP...

I'm so trying this when I can afford my 2nd Tengu hull. I'd also add Bhaalgorn to things for that to fear. What level of adv weapon upgrades do you need for that btw?

Tengu has much lower sig radius, even when buffer tanked.

Apparently oranges are better at PvP than bananas.

yes, sig radius, and Tengu will output 700+ dps without resorting to Kinetic missiles.(or massively expensive faction/officer fits)
