Hello
what are the most demanded ships and skills for pirate corps in lowsec? Im a reformed carebear looking for new adventures.
I guess each corp would ask for different options but there should be some "core pirate" set of skills that every pvper must have?

Read this... basicly, all you really need is propulsion jamming 1. Ship that can tank sentry fire is only in "nice to have" category. |

Sentry guns deal 80em, 80ex, 140ki, 140th damage per 2.5 seconds, ie 176 dps per gun. They have a range of 500+50km, targeting range of 1000km, lowsec engagement range of 150km, 0.4 rad/s tracking, 100m resolution. 2 sentry guns per gate gives 352 dps that needs to be tanked, plus 19dps from the CONCORD billboard, though this can be destroyed and will respawn at downtime. --- ISD IonCharge Lt. Edited by: KrustyKrab on 16/04/2011 20:20:19 the most used ship we see is the battlecruiser class. Best bang for the buck.
Train T2 weapon systems for your racial ship type, train T2 shield or armor supports (shield upgrades 4, tac shield manipulation 4, shield mgmt/op minimum 4, possibly the resist compensations to 4 in case you get neuted and your invulns shut off you'll still get a little boost, mechanic/hull upgrades/ repair systems 5, navs to 4, etc)
if your corp/gangs use frigs, train into T2 stuff for them (you need it anyway for T2 medium weaps). If they fly logi, hac, recon, bs, etc, train for T2 where applicable.
I started pvp'ing when I could barely fly bc's and could only use T1 guns and such (but I trained up T2 armor skills quickly as an amarr pilot before I ever got into pvp). battlecruiser + prop jamming = low skill but always welcome hvy tackler!
edit: energy emissions is important if you want to use neuts, long distance jamming/ frequency modulation is important for optimal+falloff of EW modules like tracking disruptors, ecm jammers, etc.
T2 drones + ECM drones are something you really want as well. Sig analysis + long range targeting fairly important as well (nothing worse than not being able to lock a slow cruiser or bc in time because of low sig analysis or target being out of target range).
Thermodynamics + Nanite Op + Nanite Interfacing for overheating/repairing modules.
Energy mgmt + op for cap skills, always important.

I recommend the EyePatch Y-ARR perception implant, and the Oh-ho-ho-and-a-bottle-of-rum Memory implant. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

There are also a bunch of holoreels and books in game that you need to purchase:

Propulsion Jamming has been mentioned.
Good navigation skills in general, t2 weapons for whatever you're flying, and maxed fitting skills (including weapon upgrades/advanced weapon upgrades) are your general target.
You'll want to stick to pimping out your t1 cruisers/BCs or sticking with t2/t1 frigates, and get decent at scanning, which means either good astrometrics or minimal astrometrics and a lot of practice. ---

There's more to pirate fittings than eyepatch, I'd recommend checking out fittings in this thread first and train accordingly.

Yea, that one has a bug that actually makes it worse if you train it to higher levels. CCP is yet to fix that, even after numerous threads. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

You are misreading it, it actually increases you chance to get scurvy. The skill that does what you say is Potatos and Lemons. Train that one to IV as soon as possible. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |
