Hi there,
After re-downloading the whole 3.8Gb client for what seems like the umpteenth time in the last few months, I have had this brilliant idea for a new feature for CCP called "a working client update function on Windows XP64".
I am not particularly keen to line Steve Ballmer's pockets with another licence fee simply because you want to save 10 minutes testing and probably 10 minutes fixing the problem I reported a year ago.
My OS works fine for everything else except EVE and frankly I'm spending less time playing than re-downloading client installations at the moment.

XP64 was a terrible idea for consumer based applications that not only does it have a poor uptake, and by now never will, but it also has very poor support for drivers.
Maybe if you gave more details onto why your client sees the reason to redownload again we can find a solution than CCP being forced to look into a very small portion of the userbase that will only decline. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

I have some experience with XP 64-bit, and I must say that while it was a great version, it was not widely used. This means driver support were pretty dodgy at best. This is where I had most, if not all my problems with that OS.
I'm pretty sure that if you dig down, you'll find that it's probably not EVE that has the problems as such, it's the drivers it uses.

I hear it's this thing called client updates . When it's downloaded it works like a dream, but EVERY time CCP release an update, I have to download the whole game again (the update downloads appear to be corrupted - maybe it's an embedded-7z vs. XP64 issue?)

Do have an executable blocker (prevents unknown exes from running)? That can keep the update from working.
