There is a higher chance of a pimped tengu than a non pimped one so why waste time that the tengu can use to warp out?
Meh, IDK. I think life in w-space for almost 2 years has hardened me. One shot kill Tengus.....didn't even know they could be fit that poorly.
The ganks happen when the tengus undock so a lot of the carebear population who don't turn on their hardners will die to a volley from one arty apoc.
Especially if they don't have armor skills trained up.

If only poorly fit Tengus could be suicided, it'd be a lot less profitable.
An untanked Tengu has maybe 12,000 EHP against EM. A Tempest with 1400mm IIs does more than that in one volley. Get the Tengu when it's running a Serp mission, or on the undock before it turns the hardeners on, or autopiloting through high sec space, and pop goes the Tengu.

I find that when i'm flying my tengu, i always use an insta-undock, always. just undock and press the warp key and your safe waay out of the range of gankers. as for coming back to the station i have a couple bookmarks around the station within the docking radius that is well out of the optimal of the gankers. for example i have one at top, bottom, just at the perimeter, and a couple others around the lower part of the station, just to mess with the gankers.
i've also found that the gankers are way to lazy to go and camp a gate, at least around motsu area for me anyway.

The reason is that ppl decloak out of gate in a random spot, and start moving immediately. The 1400 arties don't hit perfectly for one volley due to small sig and transversal. Redocking gank is the hot new thing, as ships come out of warp to a standstill at station, and at a set spot from direction of gate. But you've got that covered.
