Huzzah, deciding to take a break from eve for a while (but keeping my account active for skilling) i purchased eve.
i'll be playing an undead rogue on a pvp server in a guild with my EVE friends.
who else will be playing? ;)

I'll be an human warrior in a pvp server. Warriors are a little underpowered ATM, but hell, more glory to me when I win ^^

Without a doubt I'll come back to EVE (I'm lying to myself if I say otherwise) but with bloblaglogoffwars and other general tediousness in EVE atm I need a break.

I just bought WOW today, and I have to say, i havent even got ingame and i'm not impressed.
Creating an account is an absolute ordeal. If you spend longer than about 5 seconds on each screen the process times out and you have to start again. Certain pages on their subscription service, either dont load or just load the html source code.
Then even if you have filled everything out correctly you still get errors on the next screen, forcing you to fill it out again and again.
Absolute Bull****.
I'll be playing eve again i think.

Hee sounds like the US beta all over again... there's just too many people hammering the servers to create account.
Best bet would be to put it away for a day or two. Not only the largest rush might be gone by then, but you'll have better idea what the population on each server is going to be like.... and the crowd from the starting zones will move a little onward, too. ;s

Geez, they put only 3 pvp servers for French-speaking people (France, Quebec, Belgium, Luxembourg...).
Already waiting queues of more than 2 hours...
They'll add additional servers, of course, but with most ppl with their caracters already on the first 3, who will start over on the new ones?
One would have tought that the doubtfull results of US and Korean launchs would have make Blizzard learn something, but apparently one was wrong.

Hmmm I was generally against elves, fairies and****s, but I gotta admit, it sounds more interesting then eve atm. So in 7 days Im transfering my industrial char to my main account and canceling the 2nd account, and WoW here I come.
Considering how good job Blizzard did with balancing and patching starcraft (and still does, btw) I am optimistic about balance in WoW as well, as opposed to the "amarr ftw" like some other games out there
P.S. since I never played beta, I have no clue what race to chose, but undead sounds cool to me.

luc, i didn't play the beta either, i think that's as well because it means we get to explore and grind for the first time, where some people will have seen the same areas again and done the level grind for 2-3 times now B))

WoW sucks tbh :|
Played tauren hunter-druid-warrior. your running around doing some boring quests. killing alot of mobs and the rare player from time to time. The Comunity sucks big time. Their Guild system suck, pvp system suck, loot tables suck, it just suck.

Hrm, I installed WoW (against all reasons) and I have to say, so far it looks promising with all the quests (I like quests ;x) and stuff (I like stuff too ;x).
The only thing that's a bit odd so far, I played maybe 5 hours, runned around quite a bit, saw quite a few players, but not one muttered a single word. Might be there is not much to say in the n00bie-grounds, but it is still odd.
Well besides that I still have to figure out kinda every aspect of the gamemechanic. I hope they are close to DaoC ones, because I think DaoC's gamemechanics rox in general.

I did the closed Beta for EU and got bored at lvl 46 (Undead Warlock)
A few pointers :
* So far the game is short term
* PVP is fun (you don't have anything to lose) but it gets boring after a while
* Comunity (at least on the Beta) wasn't very nice
* Blizzard still has a lot to learn about managing a MMORPG
* I'll advice you to try the Warlock class (undead is the best class/race combination IMO) is the hardest one to play but I it goes better with the state of mind of someone that plays EVE
I'll give the game 6 months to mature and then if things go OK I'll give it another go

nice game, but dont get anything longer than a 3 month subscription. Sure its fun for 2 months but starts to grind really fast. I mean there are only so many instanced dungeons you get sick of, pvp is nice albeit weird (and people complain about getting ganked there as well) and tbh playing on the non pvp servers isnt worth doing as you will get bored of picking flowers after a month, pure carebear land and its game over at lvl 60 really with almost no high level content apart from a few instanced dungeons (yay more dungeons :/)
I pretty much finished the game in the beta, I expect a lot of people to do a L2 pattern on it, play it for a few months, get bored and move on tbh. It is nicer than L2 but still the same old yarn.
