Hey, all. I plan on doing some casual lvl4 missioning with my buddies but what kind of mission fit would you guys suggest (for an Ishtar)? I have very good drone skills. Armor vs. Shield Tanking? Thanks. |

If you faction the drone modules you can probably fit bigger guns. Edit: yes you can fit 200mm Rails with FN Omni's for a slight DPS boost (and better drone performance).
It's hard to shield tank an Ishtar without guns nuts price wise since passive shield tanking isn't really an option anymore. |

I'd have to go with shield tanking as well, that way you'll free at least one more low slot for another drone damage amp, and if you choose passive shield tank you'll have a huge buffer which has its own additional benefits. Just remember to always move and always kill the webbers first. Depends on your skills though, if you have armor skills instead, go for that, but I wouldn't call it optimal. |

You need two omnis and a propulsion mod on the Ishtar, which means you can't shield tank it, end of story.

The fact of the matter is that those SDAs aren't doing much for you anymore. Dropping them and swapping for whatever (two CCCs will get you cap stable, ANPs will help your tank, etc) will let you upgrade all the way to 250s if you so choose. You lose 54 drone DPS for dropping both (remember, they are under the DDAs in the stack and so are rather heavily penalized). This should all fit and get you slightly more overall damage:
[Ishtar, PvE Armor] Shadow Serpentis Armor Kinetic Hardener Shadow Serpentis Armor Thermic Hardener Shadow Serpentis Medium Armor Repairer Drone Damage Amplifier II Drone Damage Amplifier II

As a nice side benefit, it fits with Drone Rigging 4 instead of 5 (as was required by the original). |

I don't agree that they're not doing much. 40 DPS is 40 DPS. Howerver, your fit is better. I had forgotten about the CPU problems it has with a lesser drone rigging skill and/or without CPU implants.
Drop to 200mm rails if you still have problems fitting it.
A Drone Link Augmentor would be useful on there too. Sadly it will cost you your guns if you fit one. |

Yea I only have drone rigging 4 and having 250mm guns on is nice indeed. Going with a combo of armor and speed tanks will allow you to optimize your dps. Thanks, all. |

Hello guys, watching your replies comes a question to my mind, isn't better to fit two target painters instead of the tracking mods? that way drones get a bigger target to shot and the Ishtar will help everyone else running the mission. |

target painter doesn't make drone hit further away, OTL's optimal bonus does. You need increased tracking for sentries if they need to hit faster objects. You can target paint something, but you still need tracking so your sentries can "rotate" faster to follow object. Target painters use cap. |
