Edited by: Novah on 08/02/2005 13:20:06 Andrew Lance known in game as ôRampageö sadly passed away last week. On Sunday 6th February, the Stain Empire held a memorial for our fallen comrade.
I felt that one way for those that were unable to attend to be able to honour him was to make a video of the memorial available for everyone to view.
Please find links for the Low and High quality copies in the link below
Memorial Videos
We would like to thank the 150+ people that attended and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of rampage

Edited by: Lord Zap on 08/02/2005 14:16:10 It is all too easy and polite to say kind words about one who has passed away but in all honesty I do not have a bad word to say about Rampage; he will be missed terribly in the community.
In my few dealings with him I found him humorous and generous. He helped me out with isk and advice when I returned to the game for the first time back in late 2003 and said if I needed anything else I was to contact him. He had a great sense of humour even when our two corps had the occasional scuffle we would have a good laugh about it. And I remember Rampage and co chasing me about Curse in my bestower back when m0o was in CA.
When something like this happens it really focuses you on what really matters. Anyone who has been through a similar tragedy in real life will be able to empathise with his family and friends at this sad time
Perhaps it would be suitable for the devs to name a system or constellation after him?
/Zap
Edit: I'll watch the video whan i get home from work.

I had a few encounters with Rampage in game, and I can honestly say they were enjoyable even if we on opposite sides of battle. My condolences to his friends and family. RIP

I didn't know him, but he was probably a nice guy to get so important memorial. I'm also happy to see such a support from so many people in a community. 'grats to Stain for providing such a touching video and a so good proof of friendship.

Just managed to get the video.
I would like to say great choice of music as it sums it all up in the song by evanescence.
I never meet Rampage but from all comments i have seen about him he was well respected.
So on behalf of Shadow Squadron i would like to to send out our thoughts and condolences to his family and friends.
May he rest in peace. ----------

A fitting tribute to the man known as Rampage. We sit here, day after day, playing this game. Sometimes you get so involved its hard to imagine that there is in fact a rl human being on the other side of that avatar. Everything appears so unreal, until something like this happens. Truly sad, and i'm pretty much speechless over the whole ordeal.
Good movie

I wish there was some way to know if Rampage's family knows or understands how this has affected the community. I know it's not much, but maybe it would bring a smile to their faces if they were to know that the man they loved touched the lives of so many people in a positive way.
Excellent choice of music and I salute SE for a fitting tribute to a fallen comrade. -

Thanks for the kind comments about the video.
Certainly from what i have heard from those that have viewed the video it has touched people to see how much of an impact someone can make to so many people.
I ended the video with the Tempest as that was Rampages weapon of choice.
Hopefully my next video will be published on a happier occasion. ********************************************************* Intersteller eXodus - Making Stain A Happier Place To Raise Your Family.

Rampage was my former CEO in SGE. From the first i was impressed with his leadership and grace in being a teammember. Having just watched that excellent video in memorial, I could think of nothing else than his wife and his daughter. I am not a very religious man, but I pray for his wife and daughter in their journey through life. I pray for Andrew to find his place in Heaven. Whether we name a system, region, or ship after him...I care only that people that pass too young leave behind friends and loved ones that will never forget. Somehow, I do not think he will be forgotten...

To be honist, i didn't know rampage, much at all. but i would like to add my bit, at least about the eve community. it is truely amazing that this community can and does react this way, when hearing about a dear departed friend. though i did not know him, any person that can evoke this kind of friendly responce, should know that even though i didnt know him, even though many didn't know him, that my thoughts go to his family, in eve, and of course, in the real world.
also, it would be amazing to see some anti-videogame parent come to this topic, in this forum, and say that video games breed hate. that is something i see nothing of, and it is a tribute to rampage, and the eve-online community that there is not one immature jerk, alt, or otherwize that comes to deface this memorial.
thanks. --- 'Sweeden Steel Bite hard'

Marvelous video and an impressive memorial gathering.
It is good to know that one has friends, even enemies with that degree of regard and respect (here, even enemies can be Friends).
