The current mechanism of contracts assigned to a corporation is broken. As stated in Corporation_Contracts "A contract that is assigned to a corporation can be accepted by anyone in the corporation or by the corporation itself." Previously the contract that is assigned to a corporation could only be accepted by the CEO and the directors with the right to handle corp contracts.
Why is the current state a problem? Member Alice wants the corp JF pilot to transport some valuable stuff. Alice sets up a courier contract assigned to the corp. Normally the CEO or any of the directors accepts the contract, transports the stuff and everyone is happy. Since Incursion any corp member can see and accept the courier contract and possibly tempted to keep it. The transfer is logged but the temptation is there.
Alice can be expected to trust his CEO/director, but not all corp members.
So please change corp contracts back to the way, that the corp can control who is allowed to handle corp contracts.

Daumn... I wanna live in your world, because it doesn't sound anything like the version of Eve I play. This is why even Corp. Contracts get setup with collateral. That way you don't HAVE to involve trust in the process.

Hi,
Contracts have always worked this way.
When you assign any contract to a corporation anyone in the corporation can accept the contract on their own behalf. The contract manager role is required to accept a contract on behalf of the corporation however.

Confirming what CCP Atlas said. Roles are just for deciding who gets to use the corp wallet to accept the contracts. --- 34.4:1 mineral compression |

Thanks for the replies so far. May I ask for the reasoning behind the rule "A contract that is assigned to a corporation can be accepted by anyone in the corporation or by the corporation itself." (What are the user stories for that)
If corp member Alice wants to make something available for all corp members, she can simply put it in a corp hangar.
My proposal: a) Add in "create contract" under Availablity separate bullets for - Corporation (All hands) - Corporation (Contract managers) b) or add a right which is set by the corp "can accept corporation contract"

The simplest workaround I can think of using current mechanics is to publish a list of your corporation contractors, so trade partners know who to contact. Alternatively, create a holding corp and put a few ceo / director / trader alts in it. --- 34.4:1 mineral compression |
