Let's say that you had the ability to make it look like, to someone who was a rube, you were causing an exploit in the game. Would that be grounds for reversal of transactions and/or banning? |

my understanding is that if you claim to use an exploit when scamming, even if its not an exploit, that it is still against rules.... someone said he got in trouble for it when he he claimed such a thing in jita trying to get people to part with their isk. I don;'t know for sure though.

I think this is close enough to the line that you should petition it in advance and see what CCP says. If say it is OK and then some later GM tries to ban you, you'll have a record of getting permission. |

The problem you are making for yourself with this course of action is that CCP are complete morons and will probably just take the 'admission of exploiting' at face value rather than correctly investigate your situation before banning you.

Didn't work for Aperture Harmonics re tracking disruption mechanics and it didn't help Hydra in the ATX practice either. CCP have no consistency when it comes to rulings made via petitions.

If you are talking about the "Hey all, I found an exploit: just right-click on my name then "give money", type in 9999999999999999999 and you will receive this sum. All the devs do it if they need cash"-scam, that one is going on forever, so I assume it already has been petitioned and considered legal by CCP.

Aperture Harmonics as reported in the rooks and kings battle report asked CCP once via petition and CCP clearly replied with a no, this is an exploit. Not happy with this answer they asked a blanket question covering sensor mechanics, a blanket question recieved a blanket answer, CCP said yes to the blanket question and they used this to abuse the gun mechanic, ignoring the original ruling.
This was the reason they were punished. |
