Problem being of course that "in station" will soon simply mean "incarna", and therefore far beyond the capabilities of any smartphone!

Now you mention it I can't think of any aspect of Eve that one would or could play on a smartphone screen that would require the 3D engine. Market and skills has been possible for years (in fact it was demonstrated about 5 years ago but never followed up) and station spinning will soon be replaced with incarna, which mentioned above, will be beyond smartphone capabilities. However I can't deny the prospect of sitting on the train next to a smug iPhone owner and embarrassing his "angry birds" by booting up eve is appealing.

They are laggy, but it seems like most of you would be content with limited, non-millisecond critical stuff like station stuff, market stuff etc. It sounds like a remote desktop solution is exactly what you folk are after.

Very simple to log in, check market orders, do some basic hauling or mining, change skills, chat with corpies. I would never attempt to do combat, even if it was only PvE, the iPhone screen is just too small. On an iPad combat would probably be very playable. There are VNC clients for the Android platform as well, which I'll be switching to at the end of my AT&T contract (and yes, AT&T is as bad as everyone says they are, this coming from someone that work for them).
