Got bored with empire and solo carebearing, wanted to meet new people and have fun in 0.0.
Joined the RAGE alliance in the NC under a corp called Black Serpent Technologies.
Was promised the following (copy pasta from corp recruitment blurb)
"òWe are part of a strong, ambitious Alliance, with the Northern Coalition. Collectively, we have a strong grip on Sovereignty in three regions, including Vale of the Silent, Geminate, and The Kalevala Expanse, the later of which is a hot-zone (guaranteed pew-pew).
òOur Corporation, Black Serpent Technologies (MAMBA), is a group of tightly-nit individuals that are active during a wide span of timezones.
Our members are self-sufficient and regularly perform roams (our kill board speaks for itself), and hang out together with each other as a team.
We never back down from a good fight, and believe in Honor and Integrity, over personal advancement. We also realize that you have real-life concerns, and that herding the sheep is a constant worry, and demands attention.
òWe have a number of older characters (myself being very similar to you; 2004 player, played off and on), of which I'm confident you will find common ground with."
Turns out all this is bull****.
All of the leadership (including the recruitment director that came up with the above rubbish) has left apart from the CEO (who is rarely online, and when she is, she's mostly afk or in private convos with her specia friends) and the UK/EU TZ director, who to be fair is a decent bloke.
In place of the old leadership, obnoxious cretins whose sole purpose seems to be to copy paste "GET IN FLEET NAO!!!one!" in corpchat have been promoted beyond their abilities. The corp industry/mining advisor is a 16 year old kid who has only been playing for 8 months, in corp for 3.
RAGE does not have a strong grip on Geminate, Vale of the Silent or Kalevala Expanse. That is a lie. They have already lost most of it.
The corp does not regularly perform roams. That is a lie.
MAMBA is not "tightly knit". That is a lie.
MAMBA is not "active over a wide range of timezones". Not including me, there are currently 6 people online out of 207. The most I have ever seen online in nearly 4 months is 24, and that was when there were 250+ members.
They are the only corp in RAGE to hike the tax up to 100% during alliance CTA/HDs. No-one else in RAGE does this. Fact. Check the events page on Dotlan. The theory being if you can't/don't want to PVP at the time, you might as well log off.
Anyway, enough of my butthurt ramblings.
TL;DR, decided to "turn bad" and seek some compensation for my lost ships and time spent within the yawntastic NC.
You'd be surprised how easy it is to convince people who don't know you from a hole in the ground to contract their stuffs to you for safe transport to empire when they think the sky is falling in. 
Don't know exactly how much I've stolen, but I'd conservatively estimate it to be around a billion in fitted/rigged ships (hulk, drake, noctis), a pile of minerals, lots of T2 modules, a corpi shield booster, a few dozen capital construction parts BPCs, 30+ T2 mining crystals and a ton of junk mods to be reprocessed.
Not exactly heist of the century compared to some of the epic tales in here, but it'll do.
Watch this space for tears, abuse, flaming, "cool story bro" and further developments which I can't reveal yet.

Why?
Because I was bored with fleet lagfests, uninspired by what corp leadership was left, and feel like the NC doesn't care about Gem, Vale or the people in it as long as their moongoo and ratting systems in Tribute, Fade and Pure Blind are safe.
Did you plan this?
Not at all. I honestly came to RAGE and MAMBA with all the good will in the world... maybe I was too naiive.

Yes. I saw my chance, and took it. There was no plan or preparation.

45 kills in over 4months lol that says it all for me.

All threads in C&P are stupid, including this one.
I was already spacerich when I joined. I wasn't getting spacerich there. And there is more to EVE than jewgold.
Theft is indeed a paltry amount. I tried for more, but there's just not enough people online to steal from 
As for poasting with my main, I am man enough not to hide behind alts. I have removed roles and will be gone in less than a day.
Besides, there's always character bazaar.

I was enjoying this thread and expecting great things. I always enjoy reading theft threads. I have to say though it ended with much disappointment.
Burning friends and tarnishing your characters name for a paltry 1bil and a bit? That's like, a day's ratting with a nice drop.
Well done though I guess.

Well you're playing an MMO which by its very definition is a game played with others. Friends on EvE aren't a "social life" but an extension to your game playing experience. At least that's my view of it.
Don't get me wrong I get the whole theft thing. It's a fun and interesting way to play the game, as is piracy and scamming. I personally don't want to go down those routes but I have respect for those that do. However, in a theft such as this, you've had to spend time and build up friendships in-game to get to the position required for the theft. For me the friendships I have in game are worth far more than a couple of bil in terms of both actual isk revenue and opening profitable future avenues.
If you got off on the actual theft rather than the loot then fair enough, good for you. Personally though I see this as you coming out far worse off and wouldn't consider it a victory. And now, with this character at least, any chances of a decent haul in the future are slim to zero.

Really? 1 bil? God your pathetic. I was expecting to read the story of a major corp heist, but no, only a paltry 1 billion. Maybe a week or two of 0.0 ratting at most. You betrayed your friends and corpmates, and for such a small sum. Fool. If your going to do something like this you need to make it worth it.

this is a heads up for corps that should know better tho- black serpent should cover all losses imo 
btw if anyone will take you, i'd recommend getting to null again with a real corp. its worth it.

Our corp does the same thing during major NC operations.
To steal 1b in assets is hardly even worth your time. Ratting, im sure you can make that in a days time. How long were you planning this "heist"? Although RAGE is in full retreat and evacuating from vale. I'm quite sure you could have made up the difference in ME or MM space.
Anyways, grats for the fail and good luck joining a good reputable corp in the future -_-

Feh may be small beans and have caused little harm overall. However if you got any juicy intel I would be delighted to receive. More importantly is that this confirms that this is yet another NC alliance rolling downhill. You want some more revenge join a DRF corp and get your fill of pew pew.

sounds a bit silly. Son U just prob lost more than u gained, in oppotunityes to make isk in the future or if u where to sell your character to buy a new one to avoid the bumps in the future.

Yes I'm sure this theft of 1bil isk really crippled the entire alliance, and quite possibly the Northern Coalition as a whole. In years to come when people talk about the NC's downfall it'll be this one man, this thief, who caused it, and not the 100's of supercaps PL, etc, have been dropping and their relentless onslaught. No, this 1bil loss caused it. You sir, Micis, are a genius.

I've watched that corp grow, accomplish, fail, accomplish and fail again. It's a game that you obviously have no real grasp on. From the things I saw in that corp.. you did NOTHING but rat during operations and nothing but cry and whine about **** at every turn and conveniently logged off.
Sounds like you're jealous no one would pay attention to you and hold your hand while you ****ed off in belts while others attempted to defend the space. Failure or not, you're an idiot and you fail at corp theft and at EVE.

And yet it's still better than any other thread I've seen you in.
To the OP, good job, you did it with your main character and hopefully will play on with the consequences, thats what EVE is about not this hiding behind an alt crap.
In fact I think you are the only person I have seen commit an "EVE crime" with there main character, that makes this the best theft I have seen. It's not about internet monies it's about cause and affect.
